Annoying Video Game Quotes Forever Etched into your Memory

The thing that really freaked me out, well, two of them... there's a scene in the bathroom where the female lover is taking a bath and the water turns to blood and she get sucked down the drain, and the picture at the top of the stairs... you click it, and these handprints strain to push out of the painting... no music or sound, but it's just creepy... Oh, and one of the attic rooms, there's this scene with a baby with a Stauf doll in the crib next to it, and the doll comes to life and strangles the baby, and it has this EVIL look on its face while it's doing so.

It's funny, because at the time, this game was the most amazing thing. Acting stylized, but at the same time effective, but you go back and look at it today, and you're just like, "Man, this has the crappiest acting *ever*."

Wow, I totally forgot about the handprints. Though I was (un)lucky enough to have a strange and rather creepy bit of music to accompany it. Though I don't remember a bit where a doll strangles a baby. That would have had me fighting the the urge to retreat back to the desktop. I guess violence to children turns my stomach more than I thought it does now that I think about it.

I found a playthrough on Youtube that has the hands, and you are right, there is bit of music that plays... huh... I didn't remember that part.

You were totally right about the baby, talk about some High Octane Nightmare Fuel. I totally wasn't planning on sleeping much tonight. Though I totally forgot just how wonderfully bad the acting truly was having seen the video. I also popped onto the TV Tropes website, I never known that Robert Hirschbeck (Stauf) was a classically trained actor.

I've totally got to play that game again sometime.

Yeah, and there's another scene in the chapel where Stauf is about to sacrifice a baby and calls on one of the guests to do it. Brian Dutton, I think. And the revelation that the dolls Stauf makes have the souls of children in them... like the one that killed the baby...? Okay, that's children being forced to kill other children... Blaugh.

They were also in the video you posted, poor old Mrs Knox was completely useless. Did you ever get around to playing The 11th Hour at all? It didn't quite live up to the original game, IMO. (Though it certainly had it's moments.)
