OK then.

I'm not siding with your government on this one; the whole obsession with bringing in Assange to be trialled in the US and stuff for what, so far, has essentially been some documents that have left some diplomats and politicians red-faced (people don't like other people they have to work with, shock and awe) is absurd.

Don't even get me started on O'Reilly and Palin wanting him and the soldier who gave Wikileaks the files to be executed (I can't remember who called for which one).

As for Anonymous, maybe they'll be caught, maybe they won't.

Any reason why they took down the FBI website, except to feel smug to themselves that they could do it? Really, what do they think is going on here, this isn't Uplink, all they took down was a public information page and possibly ome recruiting things. Possibly the most boring parts of politics. I'm assuming this has something to do with the Wikileaks thingy I've been hearing about (but not interested enought to care about), but still... Well done Anon, you made some kid hand in their school projct on the FBI a day late.

That said, a terrorist cell (and Anon is much more of a terror cell than some things labled as such) attacking US govornment property, even cyber property, is going to be fun to watch. Especially when they're only armed with harsh language in high pitched voices and startlingly good aim in Counterstrike. This is gonna be good.

Oh Anon, you're so funny. But this time you're not playing with matches inside that grumpy old guys house down the block, now you're playing with matches inside the police station. You may think they don't care, but whoever did it probably has some FBI people watching them very, very closely.

If Anon gets registered as a terrorist group and 4chan is taken down, I just want to say I Fucking called it!

Isn't it great we live in an age where free speech is so openly promoted?

Wow, I'm impressed.

However, I seem to be the only one in my community that has actually been following Wikileaks and Anonymous so I don't think they're getting their message out to the general populace. A display of power on something like Youtube or Facebook would actually get people to pay attention so that they can start dishing out serious damage.

Looks like Anon is playing a few rounds of Poke the 800lb Bear...

Best of luck to those ankle-biters...
Actually, a full-sized grizzly is about 1500 lbs.
And that's probably not even a pregnant female....

OT: Well, if Fringe is any indicator, then Anon is in for a serious fight.

We'll see who is more powerful, bumbling government people or people claiming to be anon.
I honestly don't no which one, if any, I would support.
Let's see who will win, a bunch of religious extremists in the middle of a mountainous country or the most powerful military's in the world.....

As much as I agree with their views on Freedom of the internet, I think this was not a good move on their parts. The Mastercard, Visa and Paypal stuff was awesome (sharing the personal information was not) but attacking the US government isn't exactly going to make certain people happy.

Yup, Anon will be hunted down ruthlessly now. I'll just wait for the news networks to start calling them a terrorist cell on the internet who hate America.

Oh ho ho ho...

Bringing down Gene Simmons and Mastercard is one thing. Pissing the G-Men of is another.

Whats the odds Moot disappears and 4chan is pulled apart?
Moot is not behind this, you know.

Anon is hardly a group, they stick mostly to /b/, which in case you didn't know, is one of the 40+ image boards that are on 4chan.

The internet was built to withstand a nuclear attack, it can't be policed. That said, the police are at liberty to arrest people they find connected, and without any real laws, these people can be put away for a long time.

Most importantly though, STOP CREATING THREADS ON THESE FOOLS. Stop encouraging that shit, would you rather smart people decided what's best, or idiots with no sense of the real world and who almost certainly suffer from Online Disinhibition Effect? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Online_disinhibition_effect

Did they actually do something this time, or was it like when facebook had server issues and they claimed credit for that?

What's taking down Visa'S website supposed to accomplish? The important comupters aren'T linked to that. It's as meaningless as peeing onto the sidewalk infromt of the White House.

Wow, they must have over 9000 balls to pull that one off. Let's just hope they didn't get backraced, or that the cyberpolice branch of the FBI doesn't hunt them down. Regardless, the consequences will never be the same. Uhm...DESUDESUDESUDESUDESU

In all seriousness, I'm actually amazed that Anon managed to pull that off. A shame pissing off the FBI is akin to wearing a suit made of salmon and steaks and poking a grizzly...

Hoo boy... Anonymous is in for a wake-up call. I agree in principle with protecting freedom of speech etc., but the way they are going about it is a perfect example of everything wrong with unregulated internet activities.
