I lol'd at their video.

If all they're doing is bringing the sites down, not stealing information, then how is this different than protestors who clog the streets? Yeah, it's bad, but shouldn't really be a felony unless they steal information. I think this is pretty awesome.

Well it looks like the FBI still hasn't updated their security lol. They have been getting taken down for decades. This isn't really a huge achievement in the world of hacking. As well it wasn't all that effective in doing anything then ... so why would it now?

Oh ho ho ho...

Bringing down Gene Simmons and Mastercard is one thing. Pissing the G-Men of is another.

Whats the odds Moot disappears and 4chan is pulled apart?
It's hardly "who shot JFK?" material is it? The Goverment hitman assigned to that job would start questioning his career. "I've went from taking out some of the most wanted men in iraq to the internet's most wanted. Great."

To be honest, I back anomynous most of the time, but they shouldn't of attacked mastercard. Innocent people's incomes could of been harmed. And as for wikileaks, I think it's about time we all knew what our governments hid from us, don't you? Of course, certain judgements have to be made to not publish documents that could actually harm innocent lives, but if it's just some old, greedy, lying conmen called politicians' pride that gets harmed, well, they deserve far worse.

I hope they can hide, because if they find them they're going to go away for a looong time.

Moot is not behind this, you know.
What is "Moot"? Who is "Moot"? I think I've seen a couple of threads on /b/ with this guy and they were about "Moot", but what/who exactly is it?

And yes, 4chan/the responsible Anons have a big f-ing problem now. The internet works both ways: if you can hack websites, the feds sure as hell can, too, let alone FIND you.

So... taking down a public page... Which on no way affects or disrupts the important aspects of the FBI's work?

If they'd attempted hacking into their networks, fair enough... but I think most people calling this a bit of a lame, publicity stunt are right.

I'm all for Wikileaks revealing atrocities, but this stuff about diplomatic cables?
I think it's just horseshit. Sure, it's embarrassing for the governments... but having an interest in, and understanding of the important NON CONSPIRACY theory bullshit that real diplomats are involved in, I hardly think the leaks are ground breaking or even helpful.

Diplomats talk shit about each other all the fucking time, in fact that's what I love studying about it. But in due course, when the time for all the stuff to be declassified has come. These are people's careers and livelihoods after all. I'm thinking less about Ambassadors than I am of regular embassy staff getting the flack.

Anyway, if Anonymous want to take pot shots at one of the most well funded law enforcement agencies in the world, that's actually made a name for itself for being able to find people... Good luck to them.

Attacking the government now, are we anon? Think yourself so high and mighty? Well, your Fight Club wannabe little group can now be officially classed as a terrorist cell. Congratulations, you're now shoulder to shoulder with real terrorists.

Unfortunately, being a terrorist doesn't usually make you popular with the country that you attack.

Now that you have the US government on you... watch your back.

*Pulls up seat and popcorn* NOW this is getting interesting, time to enjoy a good ol' fashion internet war.

It's kind of cool to see how each side is responding to the other's actions, I'm sure that the FBI's response isn't going to be 'let's just arrest them all'. Really bad PR would emerge from that, and let's face it, this whole controversy isn't really helping the government's public image.

The internet was built to withstand a nuclear attack, it can't be policed. That said, the police are at liberty to arrest people they find connected, and without any real laws, these people can be put away for a long time.

Most importantly though, STOP CREATING THREADS ON THESE FOOLS. Stop encouraging that shit, would you rather smart people decided what's best, or idiots with no sense of the real world and who almost certainly suffer from Online Disinhibition Effect? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Online_disinhibition_effect
look up net neutrality, it cant be policed now but there are people who really want to be able to and we currently have the tech to be able to, the risk of actually hitting govt websites is that it gives the people who dont want net neutrality ammo and with the current make up of congress I wouldnt be surprised at all if they tried to get rid of it

Would I rather that people who I don't agree with and have little to no understanding of internet policy, as well as openly being bought by major corporations to get elected make decisions for me, or anonymous? Not a hard decision, bro.

One thing I'd like to see is Anonymous doing something besides, you know, ddos attacks. Like, delete critical information. Or at least try to do that.
