It's actually quite easy to shut down peoples internet in real life, as there are many unprotected cables that could easily be cut and bring down entire countries internet services.
Cutting off the internet ON the internet though? I'm doubting the possibility of that.

Do you have any idea how difficult that would be? How many server security protocols you'd have to hack instantaneously to be able to effectively configure a WORLD WIDE shutdown of the internet that would even last a few seconds?

Anonymous wouldn't shut down the internet. They NEED the internet to communicate amongst themselves and release statements to the press. Why shut down their own base of operations? That's like the U.S nuking D.C. BTW, can you link where you heard about this?

That doesn't defeat the basic logical argument that Anonymous operates through the internet. It's like a company in a strip mall with lots of competition deciding to burn down the entire strip mall because buisness was difficult. Yes, it was difficult, but it's going to be even MORE difficult when the public learns that your company burned down the mall and destroyed buisness for everybody. Compare 'buisness' to ideals, and you have a general comparison about why this is a really counterproductive idea.emh204 said:
