Heh, you're a bit late to the punch, here.

All that shit is pretty much over now. Anon probably needed to go do their homework. XD

All in all, their "attacks" where ineffective.
Not really, i see you got no understanding or insight in what is going on here.
I've been on 4chan all afternoon, and I can count on one hand the number of Operation: Payback threads I've seen.

But if I lack insight, how about you educate me?
Well if you admit that is true isent that just in there favour since they brought down around 8000 sites? Besides that was just a little fun they had with people they thought broke there own rules... oh ya and Gene Simmons who was just an asshole. (he is currently trying to get them in jail.. good luck)

I agree with Ham Authority, their attacks were pretty much ineffective like all of their other seemingly important attacks. They need to stick with trolling girls on youtube.
If they were smart, they would have "attacked" the transaction servers (i.e the place where all the money goes) of the companies instead of just attacking the promotional websites.

Besides, I don't see the need to even fight in the first place. There are already hundreds of mirror sites to Wikileaks, so why waste their time with this?
Do i have to say this once again? THEY DID THIS BECAUSE THOSE SITES ILLEGALLY BROKE THERE CONTRACTS WITH WIKILEAKS ACCORDING TO THERE OWN TERMS. geeze...

Freedom of information, and calling each other faggots. That's what Anon thrives on.
Pretty sure that "fag" is pretty much just a title of association when it comes to Anon. "Newfag", "Oldfag", and "Moralfag", while not terms of endearment, aren't as much inflammatory as people think that they are.
I realize the -fag suffix isn't an inflammatory so much as an identifier on the realm of 4chan, but I'm not referring to that, I mean honestly. Spend one hour on /b/ and you will see more people getting called "******" or "n***er" than pretty much anywhere on the internet.

I'm sorry Anonymous, while I am against Orwellian censorship of the Internet, I can't support you either. You're extremists and seem to have no concept of moderation (among other things).
I've seen what you do with your freedom, and it ain't pretty.

I can't support Anonymous. I just can't. Plus, I'm fairly certain their methods are going to ultimately prove to be counter productive.
Extremists is wrong.

Any other protest would involve picketing or a sit in as mentined in the letter. A sit in is where protesters literally sit in the way of a company to stop them going about their business.

A DDOS is the exact internet equivalent of this. It's not extreme it's a time honoured form of protest in a modern form. It's certainly peaceful and non-violent.

It is illegal but then so is all civil disobedience. I prefer people's actions be moral than lawful.
Not sure you understand what I meant. They are extremists in their ideals. Complete unrestrained, unrestricted freedom is impractical. Anonymous itself is a perfect example of why such a thing would be a bad idea. Again I draw reference to the Greater Internet Fuckwad Theory.
Why is it a bad idea? it seam to work great for them since they keep making headlines, keep pissing people off and keep gaining supporters.

>Mentioned /b/

There's a reason why they're called /b/tards.

Well if you go to a counter-strike server you will find more people getting called n00bs and Campers then anywhere else in this world however i cant say this proves anything?

I'd like to see a list of just a hundred of those sites. No more than 5 where mentioned on the Operation: Payback posters, as far as I remember (unless more where mentioned in LOIC)

Besides that was just a little fun they had with people they thought broke there own rules...
I'm pretty sure that not many people have managed to break them down...

I don't believe in freedom of speech.

Now that that's out of the way let me explain. Freedom of speech must either be entirely open, or regulated, and the regulations must apply to everyone. True freedom of speech includes the freedom to be racist, the freedom to insult, demean, manipulate, abuse. And I don't think that's right. I would say you should be free to speak, as long as what you say does not impose on another's free will. (In general, my true feelings would require a manifesto to explain.)

So that's point one of why I oppose Anonymous.
Marvellous! That pretty much sums up my thoughts on the matter. Wish I'd thought of that.
Is it any wonder that the ones fighting the hardest for freedom of speech are the ones who abuse it the most and deserve to have it taken away?

ESSENTIAL.... THE QUOTE IS ESSENTIAL FREEDOM!!!! AARRGGGGG MORRRRRONS

....

Ehem, excuse that.

OT: Anonymous has always sided with whatever fucks with people or the government a like. They just live to troll, whether it is good or bad is dependent on your opinion.
Actually it depends on what side you meet of anonymous, there is the kiddie side who just goes around and troll everything. The professional side (how the hell do you think those kids could keep together for this long?). The hacker side which does not much to improve the image.

Its the professional side which does most of the good things but gets least of the positive feedbacks which might be because they only jump into action rarely.

It had nothing to do with freedom of speech, there is a reason they call it revenge.

Moralfags with skills banding together are a fairly rare thing, too.

Yeah... Kinda hard to take seriously when one of their greatest accomplishments was ruining the end to Harry Potter.

I think that I'd support them, if it wasn't for the fact that the things they are protecting is their freedom to troll. The swastika kids on Xbox, the racist dipshits in the comment section on youtube, the fucking idiots on 4chan who go around destroying people's lives when they talk shit about the website.

I also wouldn't care about the wiki leaks thing if it wasn't for the fact that now the enemy we are fighting has all our troops movements and plans. Putting many people in danger.

Face it. Anon is a group of kids who have nothing better to do. They don't care about freedom of Speech. They just love their own reputation.
Comon realise those kids can not organise themselves into anything. There is responsible people in that group that make things happen. They are the once that makes the headlines. Makes the changes and keeps anonymous together.
"Responsible"...

Right.

The thing is, there was a few Nazis who weren't bad people. Doesn't change the fact that they were Nazis.

Iv actually seen all kinds of fags behaving really good after they joined in different projects supervised by moralfags. Which makes me believe they take well planned operations seriously.

So you can seriously see a connection between natzis and anonymous? Dont make me laugh... Besides not even members of anon can speak for anonymous itself. It does not have any representatives.

Lulzfags taking moral operations seriously? Surely, you jest!

In all seriousness, though, I haven't seen 'em work together towards anything beyond closing the pool for lulz.
