OT: Anonymous has always sided with whatever fucks with people or the government a like. They just live to troll, whether it is good or bad is dependent on your opinion.

Actually it depends on what side you meet of anonymous, there is the kiddie side who just goes around and troll everything. The professional side (how the hell do you think those kids could keep together for this long?). The hacker side which does not much to improve the image.

Its the professional side which does most of the good things but gets least of the positive feedbacks which might be because they only jump into action rarely.

Moralfags with skills banding together are a fairly rare thing, too.

Iv actually seen all kinds of fags behaving really good after they joined in different projects supervised by moralfags. Which makes me believe they take well planned operations seriously.

Though I have no interest in being part of anonymous, I do study them as an attempt to understand such an entity. It's odd to me to hear someone start a sentence with "anonymous is" and end it with anything in a very serious tone.

The fact is that anonymous is everything that you've ever seen on the internet and more. They're all of these things and none of these things. They're contradiction, chaos [http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Warhammer], and offensiveness. They're offensive because they can be. They help people because it's unexpected. They piss people off for lulz. Yet, all of these things together link up one thing that is nonexistent in anonymous: purpose. There is no purpose to anonymous' actions, nor will there ever be. WikiLeaks is doing stuff that very well may save the world. All they do is release the facts.

The US government told a family they didn't know how their father had died while being a reporter in Iraq. WikiLeaks then releases this video showing how he died.

That's only one of literally hundred of thousands of times when WikiLeaks has released the truth. They make many enemies by releasing the truth, but for now our US constitution, along with the first amendment, is saving the site. Unfortunately our government is moving to change the way the first amendment applies to the press and websites and is attempting to change our future.

I know many people here don't like anonymous, but this is much greater than them. This isn't about pirating, or Ddos attacks. This is about freedom of speech and government censorship.

.... Why would they care? Anonymous as an entity is untouchable. You can neither say its something or claim its not. Naheal put it wonderfully: Anonymous just IS.
