R.I.P Sega, you've eroded into irrelevancy.

It's a shame, too, since if the company abandoned their (perhaps rightful) market cynicism they could repair their image by releasing:

- A new Shenmue
- A new Panzer Dragoon
- A new (RPG/FPS) Phantasy Star
- A new Jet Set Radio
- A new Ecco the Dolphin
- A new Gunstar Heroes
- A new Virtua Cop
- A new (good) NiGHTs
- A new House of the Dead
- A new Comix Zone
- A new Seaman

*watches trailer* Is it wrong that I thought "Ooo, looks fun!" ? I honestly liked what it looked like it was trying to do.

Black Knight is the sequel to Secret Rings.
Secret Rings was actually good. I genuinely enjoyed it.
Black Knight will probably be good.

At least someone knows what's going on with this.

This game has been in development for about the last ¾ of the time that Unleashed was being undercooked (so the money has actually come from what the fanboys shelled out for '06). It is in the same vain as Secret Rings which was OK, so compare it to that.

He has a sword.

A motherfucking running game now has a sword.

Why?

WHY SEGA, WHY?

You know, I picked up the demo for Unleashed, and thought the running parts in two-and-a-half-D were actually kind of fun. Sure, some of the platform challenges there were a tad unreasonable, but I'd chalk it up to me being new and not watching for the symbols & such.

But why do they feel the need to put 'extras' in? Why the werehog? Why RPG elements? Why the sword?

If the sword can be used smoothly with the running, like a running slash that doesn't slow you down, then I might rent it. Right now rent is as good as sega is going to get from me.

Because otherwise you end up with a series like Tomb Raider where every game is actually the same game, but with different levels and no new experiences.

EDIT:Quoting correct post

I dunno, he seemed to handle a beam sword in Brawl pretty well. (kidding! relax)

I could've sworn the whole mixing humans with Sonic was a terrible idea that they shouldn't have gone back to since the debacle that was the 360/PS3 self-titled game?

Oh well. Looks somewhat fun as long as they make him managable. And quiet.

At least it dosn't look terrible. If they give it a good auto-targeting system the game might make a pretty good button masher.

I get the feeling this isn't going to work out so well.
