Actually, they only get "involved" to the point of overreacting to the actions of the president they didn't vote for (when in fact a huge chunk of them didn't vote at all.)

So I was walking home from college minding my own business, when I saw a poster of Obama with the Joker face paint and with the words "Why so socialist?". At first I was surprised and started laughing. But then there is another poster at a near by bus stop. Then another and another and another. The town's main road is literally littered with these posters. Also I noticed another poster next to it talking about "Swine flu genocide" and "Don't take the vaccination". My guess would be more idiots who don't understand Obama's propositions. I mean, they'd bash him for not doing enough about swine flu, but as soon as he proposes a way they can get free healthcare, HELL NO. THAT'S COMMUNIST.

I think that the posters are a bit shallow, they've been around since Obama started sweriously running.
When George W Bush screwed the pooch (Iraq / Economy) there were very people that protested.
Then Obama comes to power and uses the rights of the office to try and mop up and 'Voila' the republicans are ready to jump on his every decision. I don't agree with all of his policies, but still...

I agree, my friend gets in my face a lot because I like Obama, and he always says he's evil because he's passing bills that will doom us, yet he doesn't bring up any other possible way the economy could be fixed, like many conservatives I've heard..
People are just angry because he is making decisions during a tough time and passes bills that don't have their full effect right away.

I actually agree with you here, which may mean I contradict myself. I don't get heated over what Obama does, or any President does, but I do not like some of the things he does at all. I just favor him over Mccain.

Oh goodie, someone who's heard the word 'sheep', and maybe even 'sheeple', and thinks labelling people it invalidates their points. As it happens, I was being half joking, but sadly the internet does not transmit that well. In an ideal world, everyone everywhere would be informed about everything all the time. Thanks to the wholy unethnical and unsupported statements made by a quack, a large part of the population are now at risk of a Measles outbreak. Alot of them children.

Freedom of speech also requires Responsiblity of speech; if you make shit up, you should bare the legal blame for that. How many people could die if/when swine flu returns in the winter, as predicted by scientists. How many girls are going to get cervical cancer thanks to scum who say the vaccine that'd protect them from the virus known to cause one form of it actually encourages girls to sleep around.

Frankly, they won't bare the burden of their lies and bullshit because their victims are the one's who'll have to live with the effects.

I haven't seen posters, but several bumper stickers. One has a picture of Obama and says White Guilt '08. Another said President Obama is a heathen, pagan, lost sinner and calls for him to accept the Christian faith, though I don't remember the exact wording. I just face-palmed at that one, especially since the driver was a rather beautiful late 20s woman.

Wow! So if he wanted everyone to read it then what was the rush to get it passed before break? What was with the 300 pages added to it 4 hours before it was to be voted on? Our government fails in nearly everything it does. People are right to be concerned with them taking over an industry that accounts for nearly 20% of our GDP considering their horrible track record. I am sorry but you can't just walk into office and propose massive changes like this and expect people to just roll over and accept them (without even having a chance to read them!). No.

As for the tea parties... It is unfortunate that the Republicans jumped onto that wagon as they made it into a big us versus them pissing war with the Democrats and people ended up missing the entire point, which was good. It was a non-partisan affair. It was anti-government. It was about getting back to the roots that our Founding Fathers put forth in the Constitution.

I wouldn't go as far to say its less dangerous then the regular flu. Since swine flu is a respiratory virus, it can kill many people, including my girlfriend whom I care for very much since she is an asthmatic. Its very scary because while you may be able to get over it, some other people won't. And when it spreads the way it does, its worrying to say the least.

lets look at the numbers here
SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) deaths (for those who can't remember what SARS is it was just like swine flu only more panic) aprox 774 (world wide)

Swine Flu 2008-2009 deaths : 2,800 (world wide as of today)

2008 seasonal Influenza virus deaths: aprox 30,000 (United States of America only)

so that's just the numbers also the infection values for swine flu are below average for an influenza i can't remember exactly what the value is called or what the exact number was.
