今、大学で日本語を勉強してる、来年の5月に卒業する。 高校に行った時、スパイン語とフランス語を勉強して、普通英語を話すけど、スコットランドのゲ-ル語は私のまず習った言語だった。

yeah, that was so much easier to think about in japanese >_< I'm studying japanese at uni at the moment, graduate next May, I did french and spanish in high school, I usually speak english, but Scots Gaelic was my first language.

English is first
Spanish was second
German was third (weakest out of all now)
Japanese is now fourth (still learning, probably the coolest out of any of them) (it also seems to be the most logical)
have you gotten to 敬語 (keigo) yet? then japanese loses all its logic points in one fell swoop.

Unfortunately, I can read basic french for toddlers, and I know some Spanish curses. I would rather learn German or Russian or both.

As a sarcastic comment, does Leet Speak count?

Mon Francais est comme ci, comme sa. Especially when it's written (though I don't have a problem reading it), but verbal French I'm passable at.

Ég tala reiðbrennandi íslensku. Eins og tæplega 500000 aðrir á hnettinum.

I, evidently, speak English relatively fluently although my spelling sucks.

Serbian is my primary language so English is second, aye.

I think the majority of people from all countries learn at least one other language, though I can't say, our education system might be different (we learn 2, one of which is usually prioritised).

I also learned German back in school, but it didn't stick (much... I know a few things here and there, but that's it). Teachers were so focused on grammar and crap like that, and their own accents (and voices for that matter :p ) were shit, so we never heard what an actual native speaker sounds like. When I saw a couple of German/Austrian movies a couple years after finishing high school, I was amazed by how awesome the language sounded like when spoken properly and really felt crap for missing the opportunity to learn it.

lol, no. That is the one thing about japanese, it's only a few islands, but they've got like, 30 different versions of it, lol.

Sorry if this thread has been done to death, but I was just wondering what languages my fellow Escapists speak.

Seeing that the Escapist is pretty diverse in the amount of people from around the world that frequent the site, I figure that this thread would be a cool idea.

Hell, feel free to answer the question in a different language, I have Google translator on a different tab.

I myself am fluent in German (well, I was fluent two years ago :p) and obviously English is my primary language.

I kinda wanna learn Russian, or maybe Spanish would be a good idea seeing as it's my country's second language.

Anyways, let the thread commence!
I do, I am a native Spanish speaker, and as you can tell I also know English. I guess nearly in the same level in Spanish, just verbally flawed. But whatever.

I would like to learn Russian, Armenian and/or Japanese.
