Resident evils are good, I think it kind of played fast and loose with connections to the game though.

Silet hill was ok, wasn't awful.

My personal fav. though is hitman, not just for the bewbs but I think it's a good actiony film. It's got plenty of explosions and fight scenes, a nice little twist. To me it (along with the XXX films) are what the James Bond films should have been.

Spirits Within and Advent Children were great, I liked the Street Fighter II animated movie and whatever other people might say, I thought the Doom movie was highly entertaining.

I thought Silent Hill was alright (Keep in mind.. I've NEVER played a Silent Hill game).

...And yes.. I'll admit it:

Doom.

Sorry, I know it's awful, but it's still a guilty pleasure.

The Prince of Persia movie was pretty good, imo. I think primarily because the game had a strong storyline and that's what the movie focused on.

I wouldn't necessarily call Advent Children a video game movie, as it's story line is not that of any of the games, it just continued the storyline from a game. I guess it only half counts to be honest, although it was reeeeeally good, especially the director's cut/remix of it that released on Blu-ray. I love that version of the final fight scene <3!

The only actual video game-to-movie adaptation that I've ever liked was the first tomb raider movie. It was pretty fun.

...And then they butchered it in the second one, and I just stopped caring.

I thought the Silent Hill one was really good, save for the really screwy ending that lets it down a bit.

Best of all though, is that they gave Pyramid Head the proper justice it deserved.

Only watch this if you have a strong stomach.

Resident Evil apocalypse was a fun popcorn flick, mainly because it had the Nemesis in it even though he only said his signature Starssss... line only once in the movie which was disappointing. Also, the final face off with Alice and the Nemesis was pretty anticlimactic, and honestly pretty pathetic.

The first movie i thought sucked however for various reason that i won't post here.

Hitman was pretty neat apart from that fucking stupid sword fighting scene.

The first Resident Evil was also particularly enjoyable. None of the others were though.

I actually like quite a lot of them.

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time
Resident Evil
Resident Evil: Apocalypse
Resident Evil: Extinction
Resident Evil: Afterlife
Silent Hill
Doom

Hitman was also tolerable but I wouldn't watch it again.

I was a teenager when I saw the first Mortal Kombat movie but it totally rocked. The over the top techno music and relatively good special effects, though not really what the game was about, made for at least an enjoyable watch. The characters were only mostly reimagined, and it was quick and fun. Watching it as an adult my perspective is totally blinded by nostalgia but I still liked it.

Also, I saw the Silent Hill movie when it premiered and was pleasantly surprised. It was nothing special as far as horror movies go, and far from cannon as far as Silent Hill is concerned, but it wasn't an utter disaster and was competently acted and written.

I'm trying to think of another but I can't, though the Nostalgia Critic review of Alone in the Dark is one of the funniest things I've ever watched. http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/videolinks/thatguywiththeglasses/nostalgia-critic/11343-alone

Honestly...no, and I've given quite a few a go. The idea is flawed really.

1. It's very difficult to be creative with someone else's material.
2. Pretty much the only possible cross-over is a horror or action game.
3. Horror or action films have to be really creative to be interesting.

Hm.

I like Resident Evil, I like the Doom movie, and for great justice I really loved the original Mortal Kombat movie. That movie was done right, done decently. It was the justification that not ALL game movies sucked if anything. I only wish the dumbass sequel had persued a plot behind MKII instead of MK3. I'll never understand why they did that.
