Any gaming genre you would love to see made?

My one is a big zombie game MMORPG or co-operative zombie survival, but not like Left 4 Dead's linear, easy shooter feel. Possibly character leveling and perks, not sure if it would work though.
Well apart from witches and tanks.
My idea is in the day you can do out freely and look for weapons and survivors etc. find a new place to hold up. At night zombies attack and you have to survive and keep playing. Possibly character leveling and perks, not sure if it would work though.
Thoughts on this idea, would like to hear any other ideas too.

I think all the gaming genres I'd like to see made are being made, they're just not being done well enough.

Pokemon RTS

But without any base-building or resource management. Just you managing a squad of Pokemon in an arena with varying battlefields.

Still 4 moves only, 6 pokemon only, and still with leveling and EXP.

Like the idea :) I'd like the idea of being a pokémon probably, depending on how it was made.
Being an oddish would be sweet.

A mix between RTS and RPG/FPS in an MMO. It'd be a huge worlds and it'd be like an RTS (Maybe Stronghold like?) for players leading a nation/area and an FPRPG for most if not all other players. The experience for the FPRPG guys may be similar to Darkfall. Thing is that this world wouldn't be static like in other games, it'd be a world that evolves with the players and their actions and there would be no NPCes in the game. (Except for in certain events that would probably be mainly for if the game doesn't get enough players or if some nations need "balancing", in other words they could be used to reduce the power of an all too powerful nation, but I'd prefere it if the players were left to their own devices.) The players would basicly get a landscape with certain resources here and there and be given the means to do whatever the hell they want within the limits of the character's abilities and possessions.

We need more pirates. Sorry, that Sid Meier game doesn't cut it for me.

A straight up Mystery style game. Like what you would read in Arthur Conan Doyle and Agatha Christie novels.

+1.
I'm still waiting for the meta-samurai game.
But in the meantime, Sengoku Basara's nonsensical joys melt away the time.

You'll be looking for Dead Frontier. Jus' throwing that out there.
Is that the over-the-top browser game? If it is, I played it until I got to the market which confused the hell outta me.

I want to see a game that teaches me my course, but without it being really dull. Tangential learning and all that. "Quickly, to stop the alien invasion you have to finish deriving the correct energy-mass-stress tensor!", "The only way to stop the zombies is to finish the quantum gate calculations yourself!". Yeah, that'd be much more interesting than lectures.

Yes. The market's confusing, but after you get used to it, you'll be throwing chainsaws out the window and still have an unlimited supply.
And I have to agree with you about it being "over-the-top."

A Street Fighter style video game set in a steampunk WW1 between mechs. Or anything pseudo-historical while being steampunk.

yes. yes, thats a great idea. the only ones we've had so far are point-and-click. but what if it was also RPG/FPS style. for example: there are stats and areas that your character specialises in: you can work on levelling observation, or interrogation or forensics etc. and then chases and gunfights occasionally.
