A feudal Japan themed Red Dead Redemption.
I would TOTALLY buy that!
Anyway, this is more of a game idea rather than genre, but how about a game where you're on the side of the brutal, fascist dictatorship/corporation? I mean, besides Tropico, not that there's anything wrong with that game.

A good 3d fighting MMO.
Like KwonHo, for instance.
That doesn't really count as an answer i guess, so my real answer would have to be "my gaming needs are satisfied".

My one is a big zombie game MMORPG
You'll be looking for Dead Frontier. Jus' throwing that out there.
Is that the over-the-top browser game? If it is, I played it until I got to the market which confused the hell outta me.
Yes. The market's confusing, but after you get used to it, you'll be throwing chainsaws out the window and still have an unlimited supply.
And I have to agree with you about it being "over-the-top."
I couldn't figure out what ammo to buy for my pistol D: and i spent most of the early game searching everything

A straight up Mystery style game. Like what you would read in Arthur Conan Doyle and Agatha Christie novels.
Have you tried the adventure genre--which is basically what you are describing. Still Life would be one example. I haven't played Sherlock Holmes vs. Jack the Ripper, but that should be another one.

yes. yes, thats a great idea. the only ones we've had so far are point-and-click. but what if it was also RPG/FPS style. for example: there are stats and areas that your character specialises in: you can work on levelling observation, or interrogation or forensics etc. and then chases and gunfights occasionally.
Oh that does sound quite lovely

Artsy indie platformers. I've never seen any of those before. We could really use some.

Really.

Oh, and a realistic garbage truck simul-oh, wait.

Pokemon RTS

But without any base-building or resource management. Just you managing a squad of Pokemon in an arena with varying battlefields.

Still 4 moves only, 6 pokemon only, and still with leveling and EXP.
I won't be an RTS anymore, though. It'll be more like an an RTT.

Awesome idea, though. Imagine a Pokemon game with DA:O combat! It won't be all 1 vs 1 - instead, all of your Pokemon would be fighting against all of your enemies' (lets say, a bunch of Team Rocket Grunts) Pokemons at once. Only during official matches (Gym Leaders, Battle Arenas) will 1 vs 1 battles be possible. Also, add flight combat!

The world NEEDS more weapon based fighting games in the style of Bushido Blade, the fatal blow system specifically.

I've always want a sort of live battle Pokemon game, like you see in the show. Where you actually control the Pokemon and run around the battlefield. Keep all the elements from the turn-based games except rather than Speed deciding who attacks first, it's just how fast you move.

Other than that it'd be the same, with the overworld and such.

A physics genre. Not just the kinematics and forces and momentum that is standard with MOST physics engines. I want to see a game that takes physics to the nth degree! After all this time studying electromagnetism, I want to see someone program in the laws of electromagnetism with boundary conditions and the Lorentz force law to so some awesome things like:

Create electric charge to store. If an object is closer to the charge, the charge will jump like lightning. If a conductive material is present, the charge will want to jump there first instead of a nonconductive material.

Deflect plasma shots with magnetic fields. Since plasma shots are essentially charged particles, you could use a magnetic field to deflect the charged particles. OR you could fire another plasma shot parallel but a few inches away from the opposing shot to deflect it using its own magnetic field (because moving charges create magnetic fields).

Create electromagnetic waves to cook enemies! The more powerful you become, the further down the EM spectrum you could go! Radio could be used as a tool, Microwaves could be used as a tool and a weapon, UV, X-Ray, and Gamma could be used as weapons.

Electric fields could also be used to pick up metals and non-conductive media.

ALSO What about relativity and stuff? What if there was a relativistic speed race simulator? Players would have to think about the consequences of time dilation, length dilation, and how fast another person is moving ahead of you. Since length is dilated, things that you've already passed would appear ahead of you. I'm dead serious, because this would be freaking awesome.
