Well apart from witches and tanks.
My idea is in the day you can do out freely and look for weapons and survivors etc. find a new place to hold up. At night zombies attack and you have to survive and keep playing. Possibly character leveling and perks, not sure if it would work though.
Thoughts on this idea, would like to hear any other ideas too.
Like Minecraft with deadly zombies?
As for me,get a game centered solely around creation.G-mod and minecraft are two examples that people love. Why not make more? That's why I can't stand the hate fortresscraft gets. There should be a whole genre just for that like if Spore turned out well

I've always want a sort of live battle Pokemon game, like you see in the show. Where you actually control the Pokemon and run around the battlefield. Keep all the elements from the turn-based games except rather than Speed deciding who attacks first, it's just how fast you move.

Other than that it'd be the same, with the overworld and such.
Take that and make it an MMO,you've got me sold!

You'll be looking for Dead Frontier. Jus' throwing that out there.
Is that the over-the-top browser game? If it is, I played it until I got to the market which confused the hell outta me.
Yes. The market's confusing, but after you get used to it, you'll be throwing chainsaws out the window and still have an unlimited supply.
And I have to agree with you about it being "over-the-top."
I couldn't figure out what ammo to buy for my pistol D: and i spent most of the early game searching everything
Well, if you ever go back to it, it's "handgun 9mm." for the starting pistol (And other pistols you get at the start of the game). You don't have to buy it, since it litters the streets with every step/turn you take.
It should be in cars, corpses, or even your own body. You go north from the hideout to get a ton. Trust me, once I went in there with none, and came out with over 80,000 bullets.

The FPSRGP. I liked the idea of Boarderlands but due to its limited story and sparten setting I found it very dull which disapointed me greatly. What I would like is for someone to make a much more in depth RGP game with support characters who could be used in multiplayer based on the Boarderlands engine.

I was shooting at the people for shits and giggles, you'd be suprised how angry people get on a game where you can't damage when you just fire.

I would love to see the interactive novel take root. It would take some convincing of players that it's OKAY to be pressing buttons to move through dialog, the same way you would press buttons on an e-Reader to turn pages, and that there's not going to be much interactivity. Of course, like many genres, it would only be interesting to certain people. (And no, this is not limited to those Japanese "dating games". Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, for example, is mostly an interactive novel during court sections)

Yeah in a way :D but realism graphics and an actual struggle to survive.
I think people don't like fortresscraft partially due to it being a rip of Minecraft almost completely. I like it myself. I loved Spore also.

Yeah, but if we aren't getting it on 360,and I have as crappy a laptop as I do,how else am I gonna get in?Just the proposition of game design in a game has always scored points for me.Its probably why I love the forge mode in Halo so much. The only real down side is the simplicity factor that comes with designing something like that.An entire first person game where you control what you're people do and they have their own will to shape history would be amazing!
Edit:I can already see the ammo banks that would arise from this.

Street Fighter meets Turtles in Time/Simpsons Arcade Game.

D&D 4e as a turn based strategy game ala Final Fantasy Tactics.

Resident Evil as a fluid first person shooter or a third person shooter ala ME2.

D&D as a ME2/Dragon Age 2 style Action RPG.

Very true, I agree, I have nothing against someone trying to bring in Minecraft to Xbox in a different way to almost open up a market. Shame the indie games don't seem to get enough coverage. That would be awesome for an RTS like Rome:Total War where you shape history.

Yeah, first person and you start out as a single person in a small tribe of cultureless drone-like people and develop from there to more opinions, reasoning and action. You could rule the world in one life then be a nothing in the next.Battles would be epic. Also, for your game idea,I call climbing the flag pole onto the roof to chuck dynamite into oncoming swarms of undead!
Edit:Well what was Minecraft? An indie game that no one had heard of that got lucky and proved to be amazing.

A REALISTIC Ninja stealth action game. No one seems to havegot it right yet. I want Sam Fisher in Feudal ancient Japan, useing all the hallmarks of traditional Ninjutsu, fighting your opponent only when unavoidable and when forced then using as many strategic advantages as possible. Running away from your target and either throwing spikes on the ground so that he impales his own feet or scrambling up a tree and iceing him with a bow. That's the kind of Stealth game I would line up at 12 midnight to buy on release day.

Custom servers in Left 4 Dead do have leveling and perks. In fact, I installed a lot of different plugins (mostly to make the Witch the biggest pain in the ass) as well as just make the game more difficult without being murderous. Let's just say the "Void Darkness" plug in (makes everyone go blind temporarily after killing the witch and spawns a horde) is probably one of my favorites. Especially combined with the plug in that grants you more witches and more hordes.

OT: I can't think of anything new, but I'd love to see the return of some decent stealth-based games. Maybe integrate them into mechanics that already work and go from there. I also wouldn't mind seeing an action-based RPG version of Pokemon (as well as an MMO). In fact, I think that fighting games would be made better if we added RPG elements, but made it so they actually did something. It'd be like an RPG still, but the combat is faster paced. There are plenty of interesting ideas that the industry should really get cracking on. :D

Spade tied to a rake. Spake. I'm sorted.
Very true :D but the coverage, especially on consoles, is very low.
The xbox has an indie games community but it's not exactl thriving, however there are some excellent games. ZP2KX springs to mind straight away.

Just an atmospheric game where you can amble around various locations with no fixed objectives, possibly set on a remote country estate or in an isolated fishing village. Just wander around, talk to people randomly, help them out with their lives, get laid, solve the odd murder if you wish, but above all live submersed in that envionment for months of gametime.
