I would have given better examples. Things such as Blackadder, Monty Python, A bit of Fry and Laurie, Red Dwarf, that sort of thing is a perfect representation of British humour.
BBC in my opinion is one of the better things to come out of England. Doctor who is a bad bad bad example but there is still some good new stuff and BBC documentaries are top class. But red dwarf and black adder. There is no real better example of good British humour. I would love to be proven otherwise.
Black Adder, Monty Python, Spaced, Doctor Who, Coupling, Graham Norton on Occasion, a Bit of Fry and Laurie, the comedian Jimmy Carr, the IT crowd, and, when I can find it, Benny Hill.
I'm Dutch and I watch more BBC than Dutch channels. QI, Nevermind the Buzzcocks, That Webb and Mitchell Look, The Royle Family, Little Britain, The League of Gentlemen, Shooting Stars, Being Human and a whole lot of other things I can't remember at the moment.
