Be it for protection or fun. I was curious how many of you that play games actually know how a real gun is like. Any of you just shot one? Post some pictures if you want!

For me I own six guns currently. Three handguns and and three rifles.
- a 1911 .45 Stainless steel.
- A .357 Magnum revolver with a 6 inch barrel
- A .22 heritage rough rider revolver with a 9 inch barrel

- A vintage 1918 British .303 (from my grandpa)
- A .22 rifle. As normal as they come
- A custom built AR-15. (my baby)

So what about you guys?

For a few reasons, but mostly because I see no point in owning one.

Cripes. Another of these threads.
What's the obsession with guns all the time >.>

Anyway, No.
I have nothing more to add to that other than
I am English.
So I doubt I ever will.
[BIGSARCASMSTARSHEREWITHABRITISHACCENT]I consider them uncouth and dirty things.
You can much more easily solve a mugging or defend yourself with a scolding cup of tea.[BIGSARCASMENDSHEREWITHABRITISHACCENT]
I have nothing against guns.
Aside from the general muttering about them.

Edit: To help against arguments, I have added some obvious signs.
To help the visually impaired (That's only bad eyesight, not completely blind, right?), I have put them in capitals.

No, but I have shot a couple, thanks to cadets stuff at school. Never really found it all that exciting.

I do own a bow though, and I'm a damn good archer! Also, despite the potential lethality of them, no licence or anything is needed to own one. Odd.

What is it with Escapists and their guns?

Anyway, no. Money spent on guns is money I could have spent on something actually useful.

Yep, they were all legal when we bought them, but due to California's recent laws I have to go to a private range to shoot them as I can't bring them with me to a public range.

That being said I have:

A Ruger 10/22
2 1911's, One Colt Gold Cup (1980 I think was the year), one custom made Springfield Armories(pride and joy)
A piece of shit snub-nosed 5 round S&W .38 Special
A Beretta 92 with 15 round magazines (Illegal in California)
A Glock 17, hate the fucking thing, but my parents like to shoot it. (Same thing with the .38)

and for the icing on the cake, the super-illegal Colt Ar-15 complete with no bullet button and 30 round box magazines.

I only have mine as really an expensive hobby. It is just a great stress reliever for me (a little extreme) Though it is really fun to me. Though if I needed one for protection I would rather have it to make sure they would stop coming at me instead of just hurting them for a couple of seconds.

Yes sir. Unfortunately they are rather old and both are passed down from my grandfather. Ill be buying some new ones as soon as I get together the cash. Anyway, one is a Model 11 captured from a dead German in WWII by my grandfather and the other is an old double barrel 20 gauge shotgun he used for hunting. I know someone with an M1A1 Carbine and Im hoping they would be willing to sell it but I guess I will just have to see.

lol @ 'protection'. Just come out and say that you're afraid of minorities and communists.

I inherited my grandfather's hunting rifle collection, which I use for hunting. Deer are delicious. I see no other reason to own any gun, especially not any nut-job crazy assault rifles.

Uncouth and dirty things? Wow, you are really doing your nation a disservice by practically proving singlehandedly the stereotype that British people are smarmy tossers. Anyway, you obviously have never heard of the invention called the curb-stomp, but Im sure the day you splash someone desperate enough to rob people at gunpoint for cash is the day you find out exactly what a curb-stomp is. Its a shame you didn't stop after saying you had nothing more to add.

No way in hell at my age (15). I plan on maybe getting a pistol for self defense when I'm old enough after I inevitably move out. I'll probably stay in Hawaii though and it feels safer here, but still I could use some protection...

You don't seem to have grasped the fact that it was a joke.
Seriously? Does anyone think that you can stop a mugger because British people always have scolding hot cups of tea?
Nice.

Don't worry. I was only being overly British. I don't actually have anything against them, and they seem like a fun hobby.

I've been debating buying one recently. Not anything crazy, like an AR or shotgun, but a pistol. Probably a .22 or 9 mm.

I owe this interest to my being paranoid, namely about the coming zombie apocalypse and one too many Criminal Minds.

Yeah...where's the flamethrower thread, the rossbow thread or the grenade launcher thread.

I don't own a gun as such...in part due to living in a place where they tend are heavily restricted. By far the most likely person to be shot with a gun in the house is the teenage son, at least where I live, so personal gun ownership tends to be frowned upon.

On the other hand, my grandfather brought back a trophy from WW2, which used to be a gun, but has had the mechanism removed for safety.

Well, If you have no experience with one I would go with a .22. Its fun to shoot and ammo doesnt cost much.

Though if its for a zombie apocalypse just head to your local gunstore and grab some shotguns and rifles and find a nice tall building to camp out on! No need to buy it. Unless your wanting to gurantee you get one lol.

I love how it didnt quote you
