I had weight problems. growing up that affected me. I used to be extremely underweight but gained a ridiculous amount of weight my senior year of high school and freshman year of college (going from less than 150 to 210). It gave me really bad self-confidence problems. But I accepted that I may always be a sort of big guy from now on. I'm down to 190 with a bit of muscle too so I have no real qualms about my weight anymore.

I'm awesome because I play Video Games, introduce my friends to awesome films, do great at school and yet still find time to party. Also I play some guitar, do sports and can be funny. Lastly I'm not afraid of doing stupid things with friends for funs sake.

I'm often too confident, and it gets me into trouble. I go into situations thinking there's no way anything can go wrong, and once it does, I'm up a creek.

Well, I do have problems with depression and shit. But I can also acknowledge that, based on the fact that I have several great friends, that I have to be remotely awsome

Used to, not anymore.

I started building myself by acting cocky and self loving.
It worked and now I'm completely confident in myself... a bit cocky, but not depressed.

So... Yeah, I'm awesome. For the above described reason.

Personally, I see my low self esteem as a safety precaution. Human beings are an extremely violent race, we have proved that since the dawn of man, and therefore, the dawn of war, no PC RTS references intended. Humanity needs no other reason than "I don't like you" to be inclined to kill, so I see it as best that I know my place on the human social scale, which, seeming as I know by comparison to others, that I am ugly, and untalented, the main things that people seem to grade each other by, is at the very bottom. If I try to ascend any further, I would be walking headlong into inevitable violent conflict, something I experienced throughout my youth, and do not wish to experience again.

I used to have hardcore self-esteem issues. Then I graduated High School and realized "Holy Crap, I do rock! I'm smart, fairly attractive, talented and I have naturally big boobs. I really have no reason to really hate myself. So what if I'm a borderline midget who is partially gimped? I still rock!"

Is that a picture of Viktoria in your avatar? Because if so, then yes. Yes you absolutely rock.

Not just awesome, but so awesome. Points for Thief, points for the second best character in Thief. (Sorry, Garrett is just... I mean, he's Garrett. You know how it is.)

I don't think I'm awesome, but I know I'm good. It's taken me a while to get to this point having to go through the whole angsty teenager stage and self-esteem issues but when you are on the verge of competing at an international level in one of the most physically demanding and training intensive sports in the world then... well it's hard to say I suck.

I don't think I have high or low self esteem. I'm just me. I have traits that correspond with low self esteem, like shyness, but I don't have them because I think I suck, but then, there are those traits I -do- have because I worry that other people find me irritating and a burden to be around. I also have a pretty poor opinion of how I look. However, I also have traits that correspond with pretty high self esteem, such as my openness with others about myself, and I'm highly socially adept. Like all humans, I'm complex, and crude generalisations don't really work on me.

Sophisticated, classy generalisations totally do though.

Not crippling, I doubt myself at times but that is mostly so I don't look a fool when I say I can do something and fail.

Who's to say what is right?

Sometimes I think that people who don't have self-doubt...really should. If it's all that stops us from being cocky, tasteless, from throwing our weight around, and from being potentially politically dangerous...then bring on the doubt. A healthy amount of self-doubt is a bi-product of being genuinly thoughtful.

I'm fairly meek, I like that about myself...and if I was any other way...it wouldn't be genuine.

Angsty teen never happened to me. I had way more to worry about when I was in high school than feeling upset about what people thought or didn't think. And to be honest it made life a LOT easier to just not care. When I was 14 I figured having self esteem issues takes too much emotional effort. I just wanted to hang out and enjoy life as it is and that's still true.

(That being said, I don't look down on people who have problems with self esteem, I just personally don't get tangled up in that particular problem.)

Garrett is made of epicness and win. He's the most badass of the badasses =P

And you, you get awesome points for being the first one to ever recognize my avatar. Many, many awesome points to you.

And to, um, get this train of thought back on topic... people who call me awesome have led me to my inflated ego and lack of self-esteem issues. See my above conversation.
