My mom is terrible at most games, but one thing I can't figure out is how she got so good at pokemon pinball. She bought it for my brother and me, and we had fun with it for a while, and when we stopped playing, she picked it up, and managed to hit one point short of a trillion. She now sits very resolutely at the top of the score board for Sapphire.
My mom got obsessed with pokemon pinball as well, only it was the original title. The scoring system must be different, though, because I've played a single game for six hours straight and got five billion points. Can you save a game, or something with the new ones?

Also, my mom's introduction to video games was Banjo Kazooe for the N64. We were about halfway through and she wanted to play, so we gave her the controller, told her about the basic controls, then promptly got her to jump into a pit of lava. We spent another five minutes laughing at that. While most people would be turned away from games because of this, she started a new file and ended up being the first person in our house to beat the game, and at 2 am no less.

Now she usually sticks to puzzle games, but she is crazy good at them.
The new one allows you to save your game. It took her quite a while to max out the score.
Personally, I think that takes some of the fun out of getting a high score, but I have reloaded plenty of games when something went bad, so I'm not the best person to criticize that.

Just wondering, did you complete the pokedex?
I think I was a bit unclear. The new one just lets you save, turn off the game, and come back to it. It doesn't let you keep separate files. In answer to your question, yes, we did complete it.
Never mind, then. You could do that with the original as well.

You're better than me though, because I only got half way there. Have you ever played the original one? I would like to know if it seems easier or harder, and I haven't played any of the sequels.
I played the old one after getting pretty good at the new one, and the old one is definitely harder.
How so? I know getting to different places was crazy hard, and that the unsymetrical red field was harder than the blue field, but was there anything that stood out to you?
The thing that sticks out in my mind is evolution. It's a good way to rack up points, and your pokemon doesn't get tired in the new one, and that really made it frustrating in the old one.

Can I play now?

-No, after I go Game Over. Then it's your turn.

*Mom goes Game Over, and hits retry*

-Allright, after I go Game Over this time.

Yes, my mom was a gamer. It was terrible. She'd use me as an excuse to buy the games she wanted to play. "I got you that Turtles game for your Birthday!" "Awesome!" "But I'm going to play it now."

My mother has attempted to play games on a couple of occassions, but the only ones she really enjoys are SingStar and other family titles. She's not that good at anything other than them.
I feel your pain. My mother is one of the top players in the uk though, she's the 16th strongest or something like that.

I showed my Mom Peggle once, and she became addicted to it. I'll sometimes find my Steam account showing that "I've" played 20 hours of Peggle in the past 2 weeks.

I tried to widen her tastes with Portal, which I thought would be easy due to it's relative easiness and emphasis on brain power instead of skill. Needless to say, she didn't do so hot. It was painful to watch her continuously walk into a wall, looking straight up. She just can't wrap her head around first-person controls.

My mom just recently finished up a playthrough of Professor Layton & the Curious Village. She's also interested in playing WiiFit again, which is why she made me move the Wii out of my room and into the living room. Kinda embarrasing playing MadWorld in a room where family members can easily walk into and see.

One of my friends mothers is a total zombie fangirl. She has played all of the Resident Evils, and is better at them than me. I think she plays Dead Rising from time to time too.

My mum has quite literally played Mario Party 8 on the wii for almost every night for about 1.5 years now. Can't understand how she still enjoys playing that game.

She was also into a few other wii games before that. She can be quite good at some of them.

I don't know what a mum is, but my MOM wouldn't know a video game if one came up and bit her on the crumpet.
Fell free to stop being a jackass and accept other countries other than your oh so precious US of A anytime soon.

That and the fact that as England is where English originates from, it's the Yank who's writing it wrong ^ ^
Holy Non-Sequitar Batman! A little ready to jump on the Anti-American bandwagon, now arn't we? You say Mum, others say Mam, Americans say Ma. But it's the Grammar Nazi who yells at them, and points out that those words all mean mom. So country of origin has absolutely nothing to do with it.

My mum used to play asteroids on our atari 7800 and she was great at Tetris and Dr. Mario. Shame she stopped playing after the nes broke.

my mom only plays the wii and spider solitair, so i don't think she counts, plus she buys the WORST games. Honestly, who else would buy Dancing with the Stars for the WII?

My parents grew up with Pong, but they left their knowledge of video games with Pong. It's actually quite nice though, because the idea of my parents gaming with me sorta scares me haha.

Mom: Am i the bug?
Me: No, your the human.
Mom: How do i turn?
Me: Use the analog stick.
Mom: I am!
Me: The other one.
Mom: I have to use two?! *sets down controller and walks away*

Back in the olden days of the Playstation 2, my mom and I played Baldurs Gate 2 and she was actually pretty good at it.

That and Gauntlet: Dark Legacy.
