Where do these people get their wild ideas about games being the end of all humanity? Do they even know how many people play games? If they inspired violence in everyone who played them, we'd all be dead by now.

seriously, I just thought warhammer was quite funny and showed so much ambiguity in the different races so we end up questioning who is good after all.

and this guy says it doesn't say why they should die for the emperor. isn't it so that the portals to the warp don't open allowing all sorts of hellish demons to come through and kill everything... or something like that...

As expensive as tabletop Warhammer is (thousands of dollars for an army), it's more likely they went nuts because they went bankrupt than because of the game itself.

I... I don't think that'd be very compelling evidence against media effects theories. Perhaps we should try an approach that doesn't make us appear violent and unstable? Just... just a thought?

Seriously, people need to chill out. People always talk about taht its ok for children to play a game, be it tabletop, a video one or something else, as long as they realize its a game. Apparently there are adults who have problems in this area. Alarming.

And as an afterthought, since when is Warhammer for children? I started playing wehen I was about 15 cos I couldn't bloody aford it beforehand^^

Doesn't he get it? He should at least read the bloody books, the Soul Drinkers are an Astartes on the run because they don't approve the way the Imperium is being run, they see the horrors of it, and yet they still worship the emporer.

Does he not understand what the Emporer does? He's the Astronomicon beacon. Without him there is no Warp Travel. Without his shield over his citizens the denizens of the Warp are open to attack the Imperium.

It is His will that protects the Imperium.

It is His sacrifice that we ask ourselves to do the same.

It is MY army that will fucking decimate him and the Imperium.

he's f**king dead! i'm going to murder him with my bare hands...the second i get within 12" of him at the start of my movement phase i'll be on him! unless, well, there's any difficult terrain in the way that is, i may need to get closer. but he'll be in cover, do i take frag grenades or will my WS be enough? hang on! what IS my WS? hell, if it weren't for the cover save i'd just use my unfeasably large gun with no visible ammo feed and be done with it!

Wow, I just read the guys blog and he clearly doesn't get that *maybe* just *maybe* the amoral nature of the Space Marines is an intended undertone of the game - you know, intended to add flavor to the setting? No, it must be a clever ploy to make kids accept being transformed into pro-Israel super soldiers. (Seriously, the guy implies this. He's nuts.)

Obviously, because the game uses figurines, it's intended to brainwash children. Right.

That's insane! In my brief dabble in the Warhammer field I never felt the compulsion to murder anyone other than the dudes on the tabletop. Free Speech still poses it's petty annoyances I guess.
