Sweet, maybe they'll release a platform and deny 3rd party access so there won't be any games for it.
Like there is totally not any games for the app store?
I don't know, I don't have iPod stuff. I'm working off what everyone else has said.

windows xp will still be the most dominant operating system in the corporate world and when the corporate world finally upgrades if ever it would probably be to windows 7 since its similar to xp.

*Yawn.* I'm not surprised at Apple dominating MS. Apple's actually doing new stuff, unlike MS, which seems to rehash their products over and over.

hmm, should i feel happy for Apple Inc., the white suit, red tie blood diamond encrusted cane devil or bad about the back ally, trench coat wearing Microsoft? Well aren't they two sides of the same coin? At least Microsoft stopped trying to fool people it wasn't evil a long time ago.

What has Apple made that has actually been new? In the last few years, they've made a phone with an MP3 player... nothing new, just a bit prettier and better functioning than its competitors. They changed their hardware... to 'PC' standards. They made the iPad... a giant cross between an iPhone, an already existing device, and a netbook.

The only thing new about Apple is Steve Job's frightening ability to generate PR.

Apple's stock is always high because Apple's profits are always high because Apple's prices are always too high. Look inside a Mac and realize you can build a better PC for 38% of their price.

was just about to say the same thing

ipod -> larger capacity ipod with video -> small ipod -> smaller ipod -> tiny ipod -> iphone -> itouch, which is basically an iphone without the phone -> ipad -> ipad that has all the stuff people wanted before but held off because if they sold that then they wouldnt be able to upgrade their product so they could get more money

I'm on the "I don't really care" side, well, I would be except for one problem: the Mac userbase.

While I'm sure that most Mac users aren't terribly obnoxious (maybe just slightly obnoxious ^_^), this is going to raise up a storm of LURR-LURR-LURR-MAC>PC (where PC still stands for personal computer, which I believe that a Mac is..), STEVE JOBS IS JESUS, and an even more obnoxious ad campaign.

Apple can be a great company as soon as they ditch the ridiculous ads and get off their throne of false superiority.

Apple's always ususaly had a cornor of that "mobile" department, weather be iPod, iPad, iPhone, etc, Microsoft's pretty much got the biggest slice of the gaming industry with the 360, and then the majority of PC users. Apple's always had one or two things nobody else ususaly did to keep them afloat. My opinion, the iPod, back in the day, was the thing that got people interested in apple again. Back on topic: It's nice they've gotten stuff together. Even though I hate the Mac, some of the other Apple stuff's pretty nice, plus it might light a fire under Micrsoft's seat to make something new. ;D
Can I just ask, in all honesty, why you quote "hate mac"?

Is there reasoning behind it? Is it because they are overpriced or because they make simpler interfaces for simpler folk? Is it because of fanboys? Is it because its cool to hate what's popular?

I'm just wondering, because MS has just as many equivalent reasons for you to hate them. They have products that constantly get malware. They have just as many fanboys. Their hardware breaks down more often (RROD).

I just don't honestly understand all this hate towards one group over another. If you hate em all, that I can understand. They are all equally as bad and good really. Preference is what makes us choose one over another, or at least us educated folk. But to hate one over the other? I don't understand that. How is MAC any worse than MS or vice versa.

I've seen people make posts like "I will sooner burn my PC to the ground before installing OSX on it" and stuff like that.

Please help me understand!

Happiness. About time the originality counted for more than the ripping off of said originality. Windows would not even be as good as it is if not for all the ideas they're constantly stealing from OSX. I'm not complaining about this, at all.

Microsoft is a computer company first though.

If apple wants to go and be different for the sake of being different, and just generally petty like that, it's their call.

My PC still seems to work way better then my mac so... Ya... I'll stick with my PC. Weird that so many people are into the iPad.
I agree. I could see the vanguard push and incredible use for the iPhone, but the iPad? I believe it seriously was a step back, specially hardware-wise since it is an oversized iPhone (I have used an iPad, I tested them in a university lab for a project when they came out) that still has many of the touch interface imperfections. It lacked many of the special features the iPhone 3gS innovated like multi-app running. I was also surprised by how small it was, I am 6 ft tall and I cannot type in that virtual keyboard, it is way too small for my hands. It promotes incorrect keyboarding posture and I believe it could lead to an increased incidence in carpal-tunnel syndrome with users.

Personally, I think the iPad concept has been better designed (because no form has been released yet) by ASUS, with their Waveface concept. Not only did they design a laptop (foldable) with a full size virtual keyboard and touch interface, they also created the celphone and home computer to go with it all. All with a touch interface.

Check it out here:

I believe this CONCEPT is LEAGUES away from the multi-platform system Apple has been trying to implement for around 3 years now.

Apple's iPhone still can't run Flash (nor have they introduced a computer that can fucking right click without tweaking it), so I'm not that impressed.

Once they do, they'll have a reason to slap ridiculous price-tags on their products.
