I am a 14 year old. I feel kinda hurt here. I am not on drugs or woman. I will not care about woman again until i can drive (not working.) I do not have sex right now. I know 3 kids my age who do have sex.
I take drugs. They are called concerta or something like that. they are legal. Tylanole is legal. Chocolate is legal. A type of bird is a seagull. I know one kid who does drugs. she brought them to school once. She is stupid. I am stupid, but not on drugs. I am an idiot, but not stupid.

I'm a teen and I've never had any desire to do any sort of drug, pot, alcohol, or whatever. Even with pot, which isn't nearly as bad as other drugs, the legal implications far outweigh the benefits. The smoke's not exactly healthy either, but that's another discussion.

When I was a teenager, when my parents were teenagers, and hell, probably when my grandparents were teenagers, people were always up in arms about their kids drinking, having sex or doing illegal drugs. Most of the kids at my high school are completely obsessed with sex and drugs, but my high school is also the one that the American Pie movies were based on, so I don't know if I have the most fair point-of-view. They're pretty annoying, either way, especially because I'm asexual and haven't ever taken drugs.

well im not like that. I have friends who do, some of who have asked me to join them (in the drugs part, not the sex part), and I have just said no and they respected my deccision. And as a guy, i will respect my girlfriend's deccision to not have sex.

Alright, I'm noticing a trend lately. "Adult" Literature (No, not pornographic) seems to be depicting teens, anywhere from 14-19, as either sex-crazed or buying drugs.

Now, I'm not normally one to complain, but I can see where this is going to lead. Parents who read these books are going to become paranoid. They will try to match any sort of pattern in the book with their child's life, and then condemn them for it. Now I'm not saying there aren't teens that do this, but think about it. How many times do you see a teen in the news for something other than this kind of behavior? This is going to lead to the same kind of paranoia that will cause parents to suffocate their kids, instead of letting them experience life for themselves.

I had to look up what a "Rainbow Party" was. I must be getting old.

When I was growing up my school was rife with drugs and (mostly non-consensual) sexual activity so I would just consider it a realistic portrayal. It's wrong to assume that parents will just go into moral panic mode though. Some might, but a smart parent will just make sure their kid is educated about the risks, knows how to minimise them and how to resist peer pressure.

My brother literally did both of those things. Lots of unprotected sex with his girlfriend literally every time they went out. And now he lives in a run down slum which he can barely pay for because he spends most of his income on weed.

I doubt these actions were influenced by media but rather his own reckless impulses.

I am teen and i have never had sex before because i will have to wait till i'm bloody 17 because i follow the rules and never had drugs and never will...
All i can say though are the kid/teenagers in the shithole i live are more school waggers, drunks and hoon's because their fathers are at work or their mum's are single parent's that spend all they're time getting pissed or stoned due to the fact where i live is a semi-mining town.
