My mom was and still is. She loves her DS and pwns my stepdad on the wii.Ever since her father brought a Magnavox Odyssey into the home. She had various ataris and other systems bought me my first computer (Texas Instruments TI-99/4A) and the NES back in 1985. She also fueling my gaming and even brough the sony playstation and PS2 as well as various nintendo incarnations, a commodore 64, and my first gaming PC back in 1995.
She isn't the gamer she was when she was younger, when she would sink hours in Zelda or Mario, but being a grandma plus health issues kinda but that on the back burner.

My grandparents played nes and supernes until recently. ANd let me say my grandfather could wipe the floor with anyone's ass in tetris or dr. mario

Nah. My mom is too finger stupid and my dad has uncontrollable paws for hands. Neither of them show much interest and my dad actively avoids games because he's afraid if he enjoys them that it would take over his life.

My (much) older sister games. Me and my brother used to steal her Zelda saves to not have to spend half the game looking for the damned horse/growing up.

My mom's never been one to actually play games, but she would watch me and my brothers play for hours, and enjoyed cutscenes.

Dad, on the other hand, loves gaming... but only on the SNES, and on his computer. The man has to have sunk at least 1000 hours into Diablo 2 characters, building and rebuilding armor sets.

Nah, my mom just WiiFits and my dad doesn't game at all. My dad is the one who got me into computers, though, so it's not like he's not tech-savvy.

my mom was a freak on the NES. She played Dragon Warriors 3 constantly. I think I got my nerdyness from her.

both my parents are gamers. my mom plays mostly games like prince of persia (Sands of time series, she hated the cell-shaded one) and Tomb Raider, she recently started playing Red Dead Redemption though and........it's just sad. and my dad plays mostly Ace Combat and pretty much anything that has an airplane in it.

My Da plays games that don't rush him, like Fallout 3 and Star Wars KOTOR. We both love RPG's so, he buys a game I don't complain :D

Beyond the occasional game of Solitaire or Minesweeper, my mom doesn't play games. She says she doesn't really understand them.
Wow, I was gonna put that same thing almost word for word (just replace Minesweeper with Bejeweled. The same applies for my dad. When I was around sevenish I played him in SSBM at a Toys R' Us and beat him every time.

My dad's a gaming OG. He played D&D and Champions before they went anywhere near the PC, and even then, he played those old text adventure games. Suprisingly, he still plays all the PC shooters that come out, though its only been recently that I've convinced him to play the 360. If it wasn't for him I wouldn't be a gamer, what with my mom being so serious and thinking they're a waste of time.

My mom had her fair share of maple story...too damn much if you asked me. She has like 5+ level 70 characters. And if any of you played that game, it is the definition of grinding. She is currently looking forward for lotro to become free.

When I was small my father would play the SNES with me, but he stopped playing games when I turned about 8. My father and mother don't play games any more, but they still get interested when I talk about video games.

My mom greatly dislikes games in general, my dad on the other hand loves games. In fact, he and I usually play multiplayer games together.Right now we are playing Spyro Dawn of the Dragon, but we have played Champions of Norath, both 1 and 2. We've also played Bladur's gate, Alon D'ar, and a few others as well. My dad has quite an impressive video game collection, and he's pretty darn cool about that sorta thing. Without his influence I probably would not be interested in video games today.

My dad was into PC gaming in the '90s. He introduced me to the 7th Guest and 11th Hour: Sequel to the 7th Guest. We also have a copy of Myst and Streets of Sim City. He also loves Rage Wars, an RTS way too far a head of its time. He also played Final Liberation, a Warhammer 40k tabletop sim, a lot. He enjoyed Halo when he played it just like how he enjoyed Turok: Rage Wars for the N64, but he never really got into them.

Regardless, I always remembered him having at least half a dozen chess programs from Chess Master to Battle Chess. That's where most of my nostalgia lies with him and gaming.

Now the only game that he plays is WoW and he's starting to hate it. He wants to switch over to a different MMO, but doesn't know which one. Recently, he was anticipating APB, but wasn't experienced with shooters and ended up very disappointed during beta. He said, "It's trying to be too much like Grand Theft Auto. I expected a real game where I can be a cop." He'll probably either switch to WAR or SWtOR.

....My mom is technologically challenged and barely knows how to use email.
