How is that not manly? How! It is so damn cute.
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww. Looks like one of my cats.

Major difference between dogs and cats: Dogs can crush your bones, whereas Cats can render your flesh.
Either way, you're in for a world of hurt.

Ever tried carrying a cat to a vacuum cleaner that is active? That or the shower that night were not fun experiences. Plus lions, tigers, panthers, leopards...

I'm a man, cause I don't give a damn. I have a soft spot for cats, doesn't make me homosexual or anything. Not that there's anything wrong with homosexuals, mind you.

I don't think it really matters. Cats and dogs can both be manly or effeminate, it just depends on the animal. Personal I prefer dogs but thats because I like feeling loved and appreciated and not just used as a movable can opener.

If the Head of Spectre from James Bond can be manly with a pet cat, so can anyone.

It's manly to be long, right? And longcat is long?

So cats are manly. Simple.

Cats are manly, big-time. Especially if you manage to tame anything belonging in the big cat family.

Ha, I probably have the least manly cat in existance. She's a small Domestic Short Hair, her primary mode of defense is to flop on her back and expose her stomach. Her name is also Carmen... so yeah... not very manly at all.

Who cares though, I hate dogs (the thought of owning one specifically, I like medium sized dogs fine when I don't own them)

The Age of the Internets, you mean.

OnT:
Cats are cool, dogs aren't.
Who cares about manlyness

That's madness

Madness? (See my avatar)

On Topic, 2 of my cats are girls and 1 is a guy, and the girl ones act girlish (sortof, ones a literal scaredy cat and the other is a fiery queen of doom) and the guy is fat and lazy... it doesn't mean anything, like humans, most cats have their own personality and views on whatever, we just don't notice cause we don't speak cat... right?

considering animals like the tiger and the lion are called the big cat's, i think cats are pretty manly.

Cats behave more like women, i.e. they're hyper hygenic, they can take care of themselves, they're observant, they relish freedom, they enjoy curling up on the sofa, it's very obvious when they're pleased with you, it's even more bloody obvious you've pissed them off when you've got talon marks down your face, and they do not enjoy other cats coming on their territory uninvited. But, surely by logic if cats act like women, would that not suggest they are the ideal pet for a man, considering how the great cliché is for a manly man to brag about "his woman".

[sub][Nb. this post is based solely on cliché and not set to offend ^_^)[/sub]
I bolded what's stupid in the post. take away my freedom and you'll get fucked round sideways, frontways, anyways. Observant? Yeah, that applies to only and all women... (upon re-reading I found I had to clarify that was drenched in sarcasm) and they take care of themselves? you gotta be kidding me, I know there are gems out there and I promise you I appreciate the ones that shine but so many women I know are incompetent, I love them for it, but its true.

I'm not trying to say women are any less then men (my point has always remained that they are merely different, actually superior if you consider how pathetic most males are when it comes to sexuality), but those traits are either shared or more dominant in men which completely obliterates your point. (to me atleast)

The reason cats are considered feminine is cause of their figure and the way they move.

(btw I didn't mean to seem offensive if you found it so, feel free to argue)
I wasn't implying those traits aren't observed in men, just like you can get hyper hygenic men and slovenly women, but as I said before you decided to wear your ass as a hat, there was no offence intended, and I was using the great cliché of men and women, which I'd like to point out I believe in not one iota.

As you said, so many women you know are incompetent? The same can be said for men I know, who wouldn't know what to do with a vaccuum if it read its instructions aloud for them, but I didn't mention a damn word insulting men, I mentioned a grand total of one male trait, and I even specified that the type of man I was speaking of was the enormously clichéd, beer swilling, bragging, lout that so few men really are.

First of all I just wanna say good job on not taking offense, it shows.

I was saying that your argument failed because instead of using 'evidence' (excuse the punctuation, Its to show my lack of a better word) that was exclusive or at least near it to one gender, which if you don't mind me saying is what I expected in an argument with only 2 outcomes (male or female), you pointed out traits that are shown in both and are often more dominant in men. So please excuse my opinion, I really didn't mean for it to come off as insulting. (although my lack of courtesy at the time wasn't much help) However regardless of the exceptions (which I do not deny exist), that remains the most common case in my experience.

Furthermore, I do not need the idiot's guide to why cats seem feminine, thank you very much. I was talking about the inner workings not the external picture.
That wasn't for your sake.

And just to finish off, I wouldn't say its what I'm wearing so much as what I am, an asshole with a fetish for brackets.

Good day to ya and excuse my wording. (its relatively late/early here)

Most of the guys I know love cats and own cats. Though sometimes I question how manly they are (only jokingly).

I prefer dogs myself but...
A cute guy with a cat is awesome.

I can see why they're considered "unmanly", but I don't care, I like cats either way. :3

Consider this:

The selective breeding of dogs gained popularity during Victorian times, generating hundreds of different shapes and sizes of dog in less than 100 years. Many of these breeds were considered a status symbol, and were treated as humans increasingly over the years. (Special food, grooming, eating at the table, etc.)

To those who comment about the vanity of cats being attributed to their feminine qualities, just look at the Victorian gentiles that bred dogs to be the sad-eyed beggar children we love anyway. The phrase "man's best friend" is likely a good source for the implications of masculinity, when in fact many humans regardless of gender identity treat dogs as they would women.

Also, Ninja is a badass cat. She devours the souls of the living in the most loving of ways.
