No, women will never dominate men in a way that remotely resembles the way that men still dominate women. Men will never live in fear of being randomly brutalized by women. Men will never make 25%+ less than women just because they are men. Men will never have their penises skinned and sewn shut.

I agree with the poster who said that a lot of the fear of a gynochracy is a knee-jerk reaction by men who recognize the loss of their time-honored, dearly-held privilege and the women who help to reinforce it. To them, I say

In all seriousness, I see what they're getting at, but I don't think the situation is as bad as he seems to think. Women are still playing catch up. Are we doing better in some areas? Sure. But that's because we're trying to compete. There might be more women IN the company, but 9 times out of 10 it's still a man sitting in the big chair at the top. When those numbers equalize to a nice 50/50 split, then I'll say that we've caught up.

Women are doing better - we haven't won yet. When we do... ^^ Don't worry, we'll be kind rulers.

By "Female overlords" I assume you mean like the past, but with men being discriminated. But I really don't think that men in the future will be like women in the past. Since many women today can't drive well or cook, I can't see how they could possible take over. The sheer number of women ages 18 - 30 that set their kitchens on fire boiling water astounds me. Then I got hit today by a woman that was driving while eating and texting on her phone, so yeah, good luck taking over the world.

I have instituted a "can you utilize the kitchen without involving the fire department 2nd date policy." I haven't had a repeat date in months. Besides, you all do realize that in a female dominated society only the over-confident, douchebaggy, misogynistic guys will breed right? That article struck me as rather full of sexism. And from personal experience, I can debunk most of those "highlights."

"Men play video games?" ...Mm hm. There aren't any females who game. Just ignore the fact that the person posting this is a female on a video game magazine forum, with an avatar from a video game. Obviously only men play video games. ...Sarcasm, of course.

"Women thrive in information-age jobs?" Ha. I was ignored and generally brushed-off due to my gender during my engineering classes. I found a more efficient way to code something? Luck. I had to help a guy with his coding? Haha, he had to ask help from a girl! I came up with a viable solution to a structural issue? Eh, ignore it. A guy reiterates my exact solution? Oh, great idea, dude!

"Men go to prison?" ...Because there are absolutely no women's prisons. Yes, that is sarcasm.

"Women hold families together?" I just... what does "hold families together" even mean? That they have the kids? That they serve as the money-earner? That they are the moral compass? The primary caregiver? Any of those can be a man, just as commonly as a woman. I have met some stay-at-home dads in my time. They're pretty rockin' guys.

"Men watch football?" ...Having just spent three hours of my life screaming at a television as I watched my university play football, I think it's fair to say that men aren't the only ones who watch football.

Men aren't "finished," in any respect. Women are finally, finally starting to approach equality. That's all. To me, the entire article seems extremely skewed and reliant on very broad stereotypes and generalizations, rather than concrete fact.

There's no point in going that far, ya'll females already weed out the majority of us within seconds of meeting us. Furthermore, may I point out that the women who are jet setting themselves for long careers usually delay children until nearly too late and they end up going for someone, anyone that can give them children. So I plan on wearing a sign stating "will fertilize you for cash" or something in a few years. I bet I can corner the 38-40 year old Cougar market.

I see a switch at most with more men staying home and watching the kids. The simple fact is women might have more of a standing in some states but even in Japan women are seen as failures if the can't bag a husband and have kids in a house that they oversee. How about china where its a 4 to 1 women are great for a barginning chip see as how there are so few but views as little else.

Yes in alot of 1st world country they are becoming equals and that good but do go thinking that we going to see female overlord and heck let them work a while they can die early from stress. As far as men no being need to have kids becuase of test tube babies that goes both ways they can clone egg and are learning to play with the gene code.

Huh, cool article! I guess I'm not too surprised that the Y chromosome has a way of maintaining itself; I imagine there is too much evolutionary benefit to sexual reproduction for males to just quietly and sadly die out like that. (The Y chromosome is very wee and silly and adorable though. Aww, who's a tiny lil blob of sexual dimorphism? You are! You are!) ;p

That is part of the reason guys tend to be hit harder/more often with some genetic diseases though; if a gene on the Y chromosome gets messed up there is no "good" copy for the cells to use, and the mutation is expressed. So actually it might be beneficial for the Y chromosome to copy its genes, or at least to pare away as many as possible, because there is less opportunity for Y-linked hereditary diseases. (Aw, who's a clever lil chromosome? You are!) ^^
