Face it. The Escapist is full of them. I am one from time to time. But were not all Grammar Nazi's. Yet there is some post that take being a Grammar Nazi to far. I was on a thread earlier and the first comment had nothing to do with the Topic. All it was is correcting the person's spelling. Come on. Thats just not right when its one word. Then some one else did the same thing. I mean at least post something that can relate to the thread. So are you a grammar Nazi? Like one that will only say something if a lot is spelled incorrectly or if one word?(For instance the beginning of a forum)

Yes although I am more like Grammar Hitler. I hate it when people don't use proper grammar.
Edit: Oh man, I forgot the comma.

I would say yes and correct your post, but I'm not that big of a jerk. I save my inner Grammar Nazi for more humorous purposes, or on those rare occasions I actually do feel like being a jerk.

Only on really obvious things.

I have a picture that shows and describes them all, and how I feel but god forbid someone gets offended.

Things such as "there stuff is really cool." instead of "their stuff is really cool" ticks me off a tiny bit, but I'll keep it to myself.

I would be, but I'm aware that my own grammar is so atrociously bad that I never end up calling people out on it.

You forgot to double space after the period.

No I'm not usually a Grammar Nazi but I will be when my friends are texting me or sending me a message on Facebook. I mean come on if I can send you a complete thought in a grammatically correct sentence then the least you can do is the same.

If you can understand what they were trying to say, I don't understand why you would correct them. Language is silly... all of the rules of the English language just to get ideas across... if you understand what I'm trying to say, then don't get upset at my misuse of a semicolon (I never misuse a semicolon...).

Also, this is kind of off topic but today I used the word "xenophobic" in class and my teacher didn't know what it meant... I just had to mention that.

No, but i think that their an important part of the forums. They make people put more effort into they're posts.

Yes sir, I hate to be on the bandwagon, but I can't help it. Hearing someone say something incorrect just bothers me.

While I won't furiously type at someone for mixing up "your" for"you're", I would want to strangle them for messing up a simple word.

I'll only become snarky about grammar when the offending post is REALLY badly spelt, so that its generally illegible and also if they make lots of basic mistakes in their post when they're trying to argue a point, since it really tends to make them look ignorant about the topic...

Nah, just can't be bothered anymore. If a post is so badly written that it takes more than a few seconds to decode the gibberish, I'll just skip it.

I do think it's weird that many people can't keep homonyms straight. I was never taught that outright (in school) and I'd like to think I get them right most of the time.

I don't remember ever picking on anyone for their grammar, but I know I have at some point or another.
I have a few of you to thank for me stopping my correcting ways. Seeing a post with no use of capital letters and a few spelling mistakes that was dedicated to pointing out someone missed an apostrophe showed me what a dingus being a grammar nazi can make you look.

That said, some people that put capital letters at the start of every word or forget that they're allowed to use full stops and commas do get on my wick. But I keep it to myself, seeing as I'm no better. I'm pretty sure the number of unnecessary commas I've used, if converted into cheeseburgers, could shock even the most obese of people.
My metaphor skills leave something to be desired as well.

There is a show running on BBC called "The Deep".

It should be "The Depths". Get it right. Deep is an adjective.

Far from it, though I do tend to repeatedly correct my grammer as I go through my posts.

I'm not very bothered. It's speakin' lik dis that really ticks me off. I know that my spelling is horrible ('cause I was never taught or learnt how to type) so there will always be mistakes but I do try to have good grammar as much as possible. Even if they get stuff like there/their wrong I generaly know what a person is on about and don't care if they get it wrong.
