1-Cynic, A person who has an accurate view of the world.
2-Optimist, a Cynic in the making.

I don't know, I used to be optimistic, then I was pessimistic and now I don't know...

Anyone got any good arguments for one or the other?

What? You correct him, but make a mistake on the same word twice? Interesting.

On topic. I'm a pessimistic realist. Really though, what I think is that nothing is truly as bad or as good as people think it is.

Pessimist I guess.

I have tried being optimistic, and repeatedly get my hopes crushed for whatever reason. It's much easier this way.

I consider that to be realistic optimism. True realist...ism... would be saying "I don't hope, I simply look at the most realistic outcome." A realistic pessimist would be pretty much the opposite. "Prepare for the worst, so when the best comes you're pleasantly surprised".

But yeah, that would make me a realistic optimist.

Had it threatened to stab you? Mine has... >_>

I've been a pessimist since I can remember. It's easier to hope for the worst, and when something does go my way it's just a nice surprise. If you're always hoping for the best then you'll end up depressed when things in fact crash and burn in your face.

Wait, isn't the 'an' for the 'ass' instead of the 'lazy'? I haven't been to an english class in years, but for 'a' and 'an' we just skip the verbs right?

An crazy owl or A crazy owl?

I consider myself an optimistic realist. I try for the best but prepare for the worst.
