Assassin's Creed, Splinter Cell...
Shovelware. Those games are to gaming what the Transformers movies are to movies.
I'm going to respectfully disagree, seeing as how I've pretty much played every game made in the past 20+ years.

So no, they aren't.

I quite like the story of Splintercell and Assassin's Creed. Although, I do not care for Convictions changes.

No.

The president of the company could be an underage sex-trafficking serial rapist and it wouldn't have any impact on my buying decision.

I spend based on the merits of the product or service.
That's the worst way of being a consumer. Congratulations.

OT:

EA and Blizzard. I wont buy anything with their names on it until they change.

Not sure about companys... but Fez i really would like to buy and play this game...

But the creator is such a gigantic egotisitcal shitcunt i can't bring myself to buy it, i don't want any of my money going to a man that behaves like the biggest scrotal wart i have had the displeasure of hearing.
^ This. His comments about the Japanese games industry were so ridiculous and he comes of as such an arrogant, egotistical jerk that I can't bring myself to buy his game...so modern Japanese games "just suck"? I guess nobody told Catherine, El Shaddai, Valkyria Chronicles, Malicious, Dark Souls, Majin and The Forsaken Kingdom, Dragon's Dogma, Street Fighter IV, Vanquish, Bayonetta, or, I dunno, any of the modern Mario games...

I haven't bought a Lucasarts game since they screwed over KotOR 2.

To be honest though I don't think I've missed much...

EA.

I didn't buy Battlefield 3 or Mass Effect 3.

Oh yeah... only EA... I mean no other company has mannaged to annoy mo soo much that I'd boycott it... other than EA... Just them... no one else...

However if you cruxify both your Chief Director and CEO as well as making ME3 and BF3 not Origin Dedicated then I will buy both games and all DLC immmeadiately at full price.

You have no idea how huge a fan of ME3 I am :( I want to play it soo fucking bad but will never unless you bastards go and someone with brain cells takes over the company...

I agree with babinro. The kind of people behind the company selling the products don't have any effect on the products themselves. Why deny yourself the products over something so arbitrary?

Could you please elaborate on that with links or information?

And I don't even mean that in a smartass way, I'm just kinda wasted right now but what you've said sounds quite interesting so I'd like to have the info available for me in the morning without having to hunt for it while hungover.

But really, I've heard only good things about Fez, what did the creator say/do?

No, not really. Yeah I don't always agree with the business practices of some companies, but to me, boycotting is just glorified pouting.

Total boycott: GAME, mainly for the pre order fiasco after they promised all pre orders where safe.

Simply don't buy: anything by Apple or Ubisoft

Because you don't want to support a practice you find deplorable.

It's the reason some people like to buy free-range chicken and crap. The end product's the same, but they just don't want to support the animal cruelty of slaughterhouses. Because by buying the products of those slaughtered animals, you'd be telling the people running them "I'm totally fine with it, keep on stuffing and cutting".

Note that I'm totally not a free-range chicken buyer. What I don't support is EA's and Blizzard's various business and game practices. They wont get any of my money, no matter how good Starcraft 2 or Battlefield 3 looks to me.

Blizzard, it started when they decided they wanted to fuck us in the ass over a game people had been waiting over a decade for: SC II.

Realy? "We couldn't fit everything we wanted to do on one disc, so we're breaking it into 3 parts." What ever happened to the concept of a multi-disc game? Would it have been that hard if you REALLY wanted to make the game that big? Or were you just wanting to make us pay 3 times what we normally would...

Blizzard, sort of? Right now, I'm not purchasing any of their products for a number of reasons, but I still check sites like mmo-champion to see what's going on. I also don't try to convince my friends to not buy anything from them. I just refuse to give them any more of my own money.

Simply put, McDonald's.

Partly because their food is terrible, but mostly because I used to work at a McDonald's, and it's EASILY the worst job I've ever had.

Frankly, the state of the kitchen in your average McDonald's is disgusting. I worked on the grill, and there were times where I've actually seen cockroaches crawling on it, and my superior just told me to scrap them off, and keep using the grill. Without cleaning it.

And I've got a story from there involving a dildo that's both hilarious and disturbing. Plus I've heard stories about people having sex on the condiment cart.

So, yeah, no more McDonald's for me. Also, by extension, I don't do Burger King, since they're basically the same thing.
Wow. Gives whole new meaning to the phrase "I'm lovin' it!"

On-topic, the only companies I refuse to pay anymore are Capcom and Activision. I have no Capcom games, and the only Activision game I have, I only own because it would barely get me anything to trade it in.
