Are you more of an ass in gaming than real life?

Do you believe you act more aggressive or are just generally impatient in gaming as opposed to your real life personality?

I tend to believe that some games and people bring out my bad side, usually I'm a lassaiz-faire laid back none arguementitive sort of person, but playing CoD or Halo can often leave me wanting to pound certain gaming individuals for thier sheer idiocy. Are you the same, or do you behave the same way you do in normal circumstances?

Depends on the game. IE. Saints row 2: Yeah of course. but Fallout3: No, im probably more generous in game then not.
But since impatience is different ill say it still depends. If slowly crawling forward, carefully picking off everything infront of me gets me killed does not work i go perfectly to the exact opposite and sprint down the middle of the enemy praying i can make it with 1hp left.

No. If anything I am more vulgar, if only minutly, in real life because around the people who aren't my elders IRL, I tend to use some, "Colorful" launguage, but I try not to online.

I tend to be myself in a game or irl, online or off. Basically im always trying to be a good guy.

But as age sets in i find myself being more jerkish lately, it'll be interesting to see how it translates to my in game persona.

lol wut? Because Saints Row 2 is real life

OP: I troll sometimes on Left 4 Dead when my team is bad and I feel like being a dick. I've done some real life equivalents of trolling too, but I think it's safe to say most people do things on the internet they wouldn't in-person because they can get away with it. The majority of gamers I've met are non-confrontational people in their real lives, even when the situation demands a response.

If anything I'm more polite online, be it in games or otherwise. I try not to but I tend to swear quite a bit in real life. Immaturity I suppose.

Nope. I tend to game with people in the same room as me, and I tend to post on accounts linked to my primary email address... so the greater internet fuckwad theory doesn't apply much in my case.
I'm actually a little less confrontational on forums than I am in real life...

I'm generally quite polite in online gaming, but I can be acidic if I am getting irritated, usually by someone else being rude or inconsiderate. I get annoyed when people play badly, but I have the good grace to keep that to myself, and focus on trying to help them if I know how. I'd rather someone who didn't play well improved than got put off for good because I was an ass.

I actually seem to have a greater patience when playing a game.

Probably because I've come to expect people to be absolute assholes in a game that it no longer phases me.

Depends on the game really. For example in Fable 3 I'm a total asshole to people, but in New Vegas I'm actually more hesitant to be a ****, so I end up being nice to people.

I troll a lot more in online games. People take themselves so seriously it's hard not to...it's a game people, not a job.

I am more of a psycho in video games.
Fallout 3, I kill and butcher everyone I see, but in real life, I am a pretty nice guy

Mass Effect ( and most bioware games, and other moral choice games) I am mean as shit, but never in real life

I would say i'm just as much as an ass in games as in life, but I act on that assness in a more extreme way in games.

Like murdering somone and descrating thir body instead of telling them to GTFO.

I like to think I'm more sneaky in my arseness, I lure people into a false sense of security with my really posh English accent, then I destroy them and mock them, Americans especially take this very personally, I did it alot when GTA4 was popular, now I do it in CoD.

About the same, actually. I will, on rare occasions (for instance, dying and losing 30~40 minutes or more of progress) ragequit. Though it's less rage and more calmly dispirited. Maybe a bit of annoyed, incomprehensible muttering.

Multiplayer? Not in the least. If someone gets a particularly good kill, makes a good move in an RTS or something to that effect which causes me to die/lose, I'll often compliment them on their play. I'm easily impressed and don't get particularly upset by losing. Most people get weirded out by that, though.

I usually act like I do in real life. I have my moments of jackass-ery, but don't we all? Those really only rear their head when there is something going on in my life. I try to play a game to relax, and somebody starts griefing or whatever. Even then I usually just stew, I rarely speak up unless it's something just ridiculous.
