I'm 21 on Youtube to avoid the Mature Content blocker. But otherwise, I use my real age.

I never pretend to be anyone other than who I am. Saves explaining and embarrassment all around when people inevitably find out you were lying. That, and I'm far too lazy to even bother trying to track an alternate persona.

Making your internet age 21 years older in order to "fit in" while playing with kids could be about something less innoscent than games.

I usually don't use my age to make points in online games, cause age usually only comes up when some lamer starts yelling and whining cause hes a noob and the "what are you, 10?" question is raised after which everyone is suddenly adults, or so they say. So it would look like i lied anyways

I always put real info.
I sometimes use a fake DoB if I need to be over a certain age.

I put real info, as long as there aren't any age restrictions, like only people over 20 can do certain things.

The only lie I have is my youtube profile age, because I made it when I was like 15 to view 'adult' videos. What a rip off.

I make my age 18 if the game requires but besides that, I'll put my proper age for internet things.
I do not know what the point is of having an age limit if you can dupe it so easily.
Legal reasons; if a company/website has put an age requirement setting on their product/site than they can avoid a lawsuit from a parent who cries their child has viewed questionable content. In reality they could not give a damn if you dodge the system, they probably intentionally make it simple so it is easily accomplished.

It is all solely for legal reasons.

Topic: I always use my real age, although when I was younger I altered it to eighteen. My X-Blox Live account info though is not always accurate. I have one account where I am two years old and another where I was ninety seven.

I don't need too. It's not like a serial killer can find me based on my age or birthday. I only lie about it when I want to get past age requirements, like signing up for accounts without needed parental consent. Microsoft thinks I'm 19 on my LIVE account.

I actually never place real info on the internet, mostly because of my paranoid way of doing things on such a public place. All the internet and games needs to know is I'm old enough.

I bump myself up a few months to 18 to get on a few websites or see something that has an age limit but mostly I stick to my actual age

this may seem hypocritical that i fully support legal restrictions for the ESRB , if only to stop Jack 'the ripper' Thompson from bitching when i bring my Ak47 to the cafeteria(out of fish sticks, BULLS@#$) even though im only 14. which I proudly in my above-the-law american attitude admit.

I never lie about my age, its something people tend to remember, and if two people with different knowledge of my age ever join my XBL Party...hell would break loose.

I'm a 214 year old Elcor diplomat, btw.

I always keep my actual age, but I have a few male characters that I let people assume I'm a guy on, it gets annoying sometimes when you group with random people and they realize you are a girl :/

If there was an age limit to view a trailer or watch a video (say, AVGN), I lied that I was 18 or older. Nowadays, I don't need to do that...

But in other situations, like when asked for personal information when registering for a game, etc... well, then it is mostly true.
