My father only plays the elder scrolls series, my mom hates games and thinks they should be banned from Canada (surprisingly true), but thats about it.

Most definetley not they know I love games and I try to show them examples of seriously good games but they have no attention span when it comes to games. It saddens me that gaming is looked down upon by the older generation.

Funny side note: My dad walked in while I was playing Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven (I was playing as Ayame) he watched me for a few seconds then asked "Why are you playing as a chick?" Never mind that I just sliced off a guy's head and backflipped off his shoulders my dad focuses on that. I think that's pretty funny.

Actually, playing Mario Kart against my Father is no fun. He always wins. I'm 26 and have played Mario Kart since the first game, so that's something I find difficult to deal with. But then again, I am great at most games he wont even try to play.

Nope. I think my dad played Pong once. And maybe Frogger... My mum, just no. Both try to avoid talking to me about gaming as much as possible.
Edit: OK fine, I'll give him some credit, he can put up a decent fight in MarioKart Wii, but he's only played twice or something...

i was terrified the other day, i showed my mom how to play halo 3, she wouldnt shut up about wanting to learn, so i showed her, and to make her leave faster, i taught her sniping, something that i found my dad just couldnt do. so my mom asks after i show her, "wo when the little circle turns red, i shoot?" i go ya, she fires, headshot. it was the most horrifying moment ever. my mom is a snipeshow. shes really good too...

My mom hates video games, sees them as a waste of time. However, she's always been good about letting me play M-Rated games when I was under 17. Also she used to be a beast at Sonic because I'd get stuck, so she'd play the game in order to help me.

My dad used to play MLB '99 with me but that was years ago.

My family all learnt console gaming for the first time together. Me, my sister, dad and mum all gathered around our first NES when I was 4 and learnt at it together. All of us have achieved some level of proficiency in a particular gaming genre.

My sister is a master of Tetris and has once reached up to 9000 lines.
My mother loves puzzle games and will obliterate you on Baku Baku.

My father has obtained the 007 rank in Goldeneye (finish the game on all three difficulty levels) and once spent 6 hours on Severnaya killing 1200 people with a sniper rifle and mines.
He is also really good as Yoshimitsu in Tekken, or Siegfried in Soul Calibur.

My grandfather has tried a bit of Wii Boxing and liked it quite a bit, hell he was wrecking that shit.

Short answer: No.
Long answer: Hell no.

They don't even know how to turn on a DVD player.
Similar to my parents.

Although my dad did try his hand at GH2. I think you can guess the outcome.

No, not at all.

Every once and awhile they take an interest of how good looking and well made the games are. I remember one instance where my grandparents watch me play GTA4. They would laugh alittle or say something as I went around beating the crap out of people, gun them down, or just plain run them over.

My mum more or less got me into gaming, she had sonic and toe-jam & Earl on the megadrive (gensis) when I was about 5. These days she plays mostly 'casual' games although she did get to the end of FFX and is looking foward to XIII. Other than final fantasy there is little overlap, I tried to get here to play Oblivion but the controls didnt come easily to her, and she doesnt like zombies. Entertaining though. She also uses facebook, I do not.

My dad doesnt get into any of it though.

No, I don't think he can do that kind of stuff anymore.

It was similar to this.
