Area 51. It's a research center, but for what?

If dead/alive aliens are locked up and being pricked and prodded in the name of science in that facility then i would expect the aliens galactic empire would try to rescue them and obliterate our troublesome species once and for all.

I think it's some sort of military testing zone. I forgot when but a bunch of employee's came out and started to sue the government for unsafe working conditions (they all suffered chemical burns).

In my opinion, they only classify the place so the government can not be sued for the criminal lack of job safety.

They are building tomorrows technology there.
I heard about this lawsuit as well. I believe it's where they develop and test new aircraft. They probably don't want any information about the aircraft to fall into the wrong hands, that's why they're authorized to use deadly force.

the guards have been given permision to shoot on sight, but most top secret experiments are conducted there. i think one of the first planes to reach the sonic barrier was tested there.

Hmmm, well I think one of the problems here is that people think that there is only one secret at Area-51. Given the size of the facility not counting what might be underground, I'd imagine it works on a lot of differant projects.

As for why this would continue despite the nature of the base being "outed" is simply because research facilities and such do not grow on trees, and simply building another one would be really expensive. If you have the facilities, it's stupid not to use them.

The problem with all of the alien stuff is that I still can't think of any sensible reason why this would be kept secret. All of this stuff about "it would cause a public panic" is BS, ditto for some of the stuff about "cold war paranoia" simply because a reveal like aliens would probably have ended the Cold War, one thing that can unify humanity is a common interest or potential threat. I suppose fear of sudden, radical change might have played into it, but I just can't see it to be honest. That's the problem with most conspiricy theories: motivation.

If I had to guess what is going on in Area 51 it would simply be that the people there are all scientists with goverment grants who are happy to have access to the facilities and do their little pet projects. Nobody wants to risk the resources of finance, and they are all doing what they want to do, so there are no real leaks by them or their people. Most of the rank and file soldiers and employees probably don't have access to the labs, which are all working on differant things.

It's possible you might have Aliens in there or something, but honestly I wouldn't think so.

Another reason for secrecy of course is peacenik liberalism. This is a military facility where a lot of research is doubtlessly being done in how to kill massive numbers of people extremely quickly. People already freak out about nuclear weapons and getting rid of them, as well as blockading research for sub-tactical nukes which could be used more freely. In a society where left wing politics had us replacing the explosives on our missles with concrete to "avoid civilian casualties" during The War On Terror, it's pretty obvious that if people found out about super-weapons there would be a political sh@tstorm about how nobody should be allowed to have stuff like whatever they are making.

A scientist inventing the "people eraser" for example doesn't want that kind of attention.

Oh sure, a lot of people would support this, but a lot wouldn't (our country is polarized). I still remember all the left wingers who went down to The Middle East to be volunteer human shields. That kind of thing combined with the adventures of Jane Fonda during Veitnam and other noteworthy examples are one of the reasons why I have such contempt for the movement.

Please. Everybody knows that WPAFB in Dayton is the research facility and where they test new aircraft designs. Since the expose on Area 51 years back, the government has more or less pulled out of any activity and maintains a skeleton crew and a full guard on the base to keep people out and also to keep the place from collapsing. They are maintaining Area 51 as a backup and/or fallout shelter for now.
Im guessing you might be from Ohio then? I go to University of Cincinnati so whenever i visit my girlfriend i pass through or near Dayton and WPAFB. Up I- 75

And i believe that Will Smith hangs out at area 51... You know, just like independence day.

You can find more on this kind of thing, that's just a quick link. Look up concrete bombs and concrete missles. The former is much easier.

Officially the base's primary purpose is to support development and testing of experimental aircraft and weapons systems.

You can see it on Google Maps, it's just a bunch of runways and hangers.

Could there be an underground bunker???

I don't care.

A 900kg rock falling at 9.8m/s, impacting the ground, has a tremendous amount of force. That's basically dropping a Honda Civic on a house from a plane.

In 1944, the U.S. navy invaded Saipan. During the fighting, a regiment of soldiers managed to corner, and capture, a live ninja.

He was chained in a metal box, and shipped stateside for research. Ever since, the airstrips and hanger facilities at area 51 have been used to hide the ninja research going on underground.

I will be dead in 3 minutes for revealing this to you. Spread the word, so my death is not in vain.
i lol'd sooo hard, you dont even know.

OT: i think its a facility that reverse engineers captured alien tech.

Dont think there are aliens in there.

More likely that there doing some super undercover testing in there. You know, how many people can be killed by this, how many can be crippled by that, if its possible to practice mind control on the general population, stuff like that.
So, you agree with my McDonald's theory then?

I'm not sure about it. It probably is just a distraction to some other base doing even more evil research.
