Yeah its in USD. And I live in Texas if that helps.

EDIT: I forgot to thank you earlier for your help man. Thanks a bunch.
It's no problem. I've got an awesome set up for you.

May I suggest a differnt ram? I got ram just like that for 67$(unless theres something more to that ram other then DDR2 800)
Higher Cask latency bullet. A little more speed for a little more money.

EDIT:I said Higher cask latency. That's bad. I meant lower cask latency. There's a quick lesson for everyone. Lower Cask latency on your ram = betterz.

Also, Thanks Chip! That means alot. I just love building PC's. Have fun with that baby. Treat her nice. Take her to lans. Show her off. That case I got you has a side window for a reason. So you can show off all your "uber leet lewt" ;)

It really depends. A dedicated ethernet card (such as killer) is really only needed if you have a lot of information packets going through your intar webz when you game. Here's a decent explanation.

From my knowledge all killer does is make your PC priotize what data goes first into the internet. For instance, say your playing Call of Duty on your PC while running a torrent in the backround. Normally, your game will lag, Killer helps avoid that by recognizing what Packets of information are coming from the game, and what are coming from the torrent. It then takes the Game info and places it in front of the torrent info, letting your torrent download without crippling your game.

I'm pretty sure I'm right, but I've never used Killer so does anyone have more insight to that?

$1500NZD converts to about $1100USD.

Sorry, I don't really know any good NZ sites apart from http://www.etccomputers.co.nz/shop/main/main.asp

I could probably Google for some though :D
With 1100$ USD you could probably top-out crysis lol..I dunno though aries will tell you if you can but i'm guessing you should since the only reason my 750$ comp that aries helped me build is cause i'm not using whatever nvidia card thats like two stuck together.(Which are hard to clean so says some random guy!)

and running of servers in games?(I know you don't have too but creating a 64 person CoD4 server is just overkill, but its awesome:D)

Thats why your pcs always come with a billion fans that could probably float a kitten? :pP

I need a new cpu. My current one is very weak and I think it isn't using my RAM and 8800 GTS to full effect.
With 1 GB of RAM which one should I upgrade to? And for a little more money should I upgrade my RAM to be perfect for a new cpu?

Unless your old ram is regular DDR then you only need another stick and you would be fine. Also what mobo do you have?

Servers really just depend on your internet connection. Killer will only help in the situation I stated above.

I'd love to help you mate. But I need a little information. I need to know what your current CPU is, and I need to know what Motherboard your using. if you don't know, then you can do this.
Press Start Button
Click Run
type in dxdiag
look their.

My processor is an AMD 2100 dual core with 2 CPUs (1.80 GHz).
This is the only relevant info I could find out about my motherboard. Don't know if it helps.
Award BIOS Type Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG
But since it came with an AMD processor it should be only compatable with AMD products yes?

AMD motherboards are always only compatible with AMD CPU's.

I don't think they sell any processors that will fit your CPU socket any more. My best advice is to keep your 8800 GTS, and just buy a new motherboard and CPU. your's is VERY dated. Sorry to have to break it to you like that, but I don't see the point in upgrading a Socket A (socket 462) CPU. That's about as good as you'll get for that Mobo. Sorry I can't be of much help. If you do want to just get a new motherboard, I CAN help with that.

Well okay then. I think the absolute most I can spend is about $400. What motherboard should I get? Ideally I'd like it to be an Intel compatable motherboard since I think they make their processors better than AMD.

I agree. Here is a new motherboard, CPU,and 2 gigs of ram. The Motherboard and CPU are amazing and the CPU will most definitely compliment your 8800GTS.

Aries beat me to it. Also why that RAM? Theres better 2g sticks out there around that price..HE could get 4gigs of ram but your probably going to bring up lower case latency. But more RAM isn't a bad thing right?

Shaves 30$ off and its the same board just no 3rd party modding to it.

Thanks guys.
I'll go with Bullet's way. I trust myself not to screw up installing anything since after installing my 8800 in a few computers I've learned quite abit about how motherboards work.
Plus if I can get 4 GB of RAM... well more RAM is more RAM!
