This is horse shit...

Relieving frustration by fantasizing about violent acts is one of the most efficient and natural ways of stopping that anger from becoming unbearable, which is when you start actually hurting people. Ask any psychologist worth his paycheck.

What is definitely not going to help is giving this kid mixed messages, telling him to draw then clamping down hard on his desire to express himself.

Yup, this is going to make the kid less frustrated with his teacher and the system, mm-hmm.

Seriously, it's nice the kid showed restraint in choosing a non-violent way to work out his mental anguish. Next time, especially since the police have kindly shown him that drawing pictures is a "no-no," I don't know how he'll be able to reason out his much greater mental anguish.

And if he was about to throw away the picture when he got... "caught," it means he was done with the whole thing anyway.

lol, "Everyone draws pictures of themselves killing specific people in their school." Really? Drawing violence, or battles? Sure, but people that you know? That's serious.

Edit: I wrote, "I'm going to kill my teacher." On a piece of paper! Wait, why are you arresting me? ITS ON PAPER!

FUCK YOU AMERICA!!
As an American, I should be offended about that. But I know you were merely acting out your frustrations in a non-violent manner and no further action needs to be taken, which would only serve to engender future resentment.

Hey, look at that, I'm more reasonable and mature than an elementary school, AND an entire police force.

And yet they allow concealed weapons on university campuses because it "Protects our freedoms". Yep. VERY FUCKING GOOD! So much for freedom of speech. Or freedom of thought for that matter. I hope the FBI doesn't invent thought scanning technology, otherwise we'll all be in jail. This is another good example of "Minors do not have the freedom to think or make choices because they'll have slightly violent thoughts and we want him thinking about kittens all the time". Maybe the police were bored or something. Either way, I now officially know that I am living on the most retarded country on the face of the earth, with a huge ego to boot.

In other words, "America. Fuck- oh I got arrested for saying fuck in public."

I can almost see why they would be worried, with so much paranoia going around they're probably scared in case he plays on it.
But that's fucking ridiculous, why are people so scared and offended over drawings that can't even harm them?

(I konw that not all Americans are bad, but it made me feel better to type that)

That kid was 11!! Who the hell arrests FUCKING children?
Trick question. Zealot idiots who believe, rather than use their fucking minds.
Jesus.
I think that instead of unleasing your rage on the interwebs, you should draw it.

I think it's fucking harsh.
Instead of letting the kid release his anger via drawing and getting to the bottom of his problem, they make a mess of it by arresting him?

Good luck trying to help him now.

The kid was 11. He most likely doesn't even own a pistol, let alone know how to aim, reload, release the clip or anything else.
You're not giving enough credit to 11 year olds.

Just Google it. It's pretty sad.
That would pretty much be the reason for the 'overreaction'. People like to think children are pure and can do no wrong, but some of them are really fuckin' evil.

My friend's daughter broke her leg and got a cast put on it. (Shes in middle school) Some other girls that didn't like my friend's daughter pushed her down the top half of the stairs, then picked her up and tossed her down the second half. (This was with her broken leg, by the way)

That, combined with what I remember from middle school...older elementary-middle school aged children are basically evil incarnate.

Oh my.
A kid gets frustrated and takes it out by drawing?!
Clearly, this child is insane!

The charges are interfering with staff and students at an educational facility. As far as I can tell he did no such thing, everyone but him interfered with everything.

In general there is nothing wrong with this, I think it's another sign that the school system is out of control, and has been getting increasingly worse since columbine. The policies that lead to this kind of thing are basically a way of trying to sidestep the actual issues at the heart of the matter.

Let's be honest, there have been things like music, movies, and other things all about kids rebelling against school authority, and even doing things like killing their teachers, blowing up schools, and all kinds of things. It's all in good fun, and nobody takes it especially seriously.

I mean crap, the old

"Glory, Glory Hallujah, my teacher hit me with a ruler"
"I hid behind the door with a loaded .44 only saw my teacher once more"
"went to school the next morning, my teacher wasn't there"
"so I went to the hospital, and shot her in the underwear"

is an institution.

Then of course we have "On top of old smokey, all covered with blood" which ends with a kid throwing a grenade and blowing up the teacher AND her grave.

The point here is that these songs are intended to be kind of F@cked up, and darkly amusing to students, but nobody takes them seriously. Heck the first one was taught to a class I was in by a teacher who was making a sort of joke about the whole thing and showing how long it had ben around (going back to like when corperal punishment was allowed in schools).

Now, I can understand how things like this are disturbing in light of things like "Columbine" but they aren't what's at fault. It's also no worse than a lot of other messed up children's songs which are about things like the bloody plague ("Ring Around The Rosie").

The fact that the kid was in therapy is also an issue, since I can't help but wonder what kind of disclosure/confidentiality agreements this violated with someone even finding out about it. It also occurs to me that if the kid has issues to be in therepy to begin with, they should have been asking why he hated his teacher that much, and truthfully this kind of reaction almost guarantees your going to have issues with ANY kid in school wanting to open up to a therapist about anything important. I mean there is a bond of trust there which is why there are supposed to be rules about disclosure, you start arresting patient/clients for stupid things like this and good luck with the other students when it matters. Even if this kid is unusually messed up, bring another one is for something else (sexual abuse, drug problems, gang concerns, whatever) and if they refuse to say anything or work through their problems, the only ones the system is going to have to blame is itself. Makes me wonder if people in the school will die now from issues that could have been prevented or worked through if people trusted the therapist... it would be ironic.
