Yes because every person who draws violent stick figures is a psychopath, just like anyone who likes rap music is a potential criminal, people who play videogames are rapists and murderers just waiting to crack.

This is pathetic in the very least. Who didn't draw violent stick figure images at that age, especially of a teacher they didn't like, in Drake and Josh they show Drake's notebook filled with different ways of injuring his teacher.

Also he is 11! Most 11 year olds do that, I once drew a stick figure image of my friend attempting suicide and the rope getting stuck on his forehead! Does that may me a sociopath? No. Does it make me an asshole? Yes.

Like art, fiction etc... it is a way of showing things that you know won't happen or you're not allowed to do in real life.

Kinda scary, I think I was 11-12 when I was drawing stick figures, and trying out animation on Adobe Flash. And does anyone remember stick death? Yeah a few of us had seem that at that age.

Good thing I don't live in america.

If i saw someone drawing a picture like that i would think they were psycho.
People who draw stick figures killing eachother are psychos?

Ahh, brilliant sir! You're the only non psycho in this thread it seems! Now we can all kill you, because we're all psychos! Obviously.

Edit:

Reading the story, the school knew what he was doing, knew a psychiatrist, sent him home /then/ called the police, who turned up at his door. Assholes...

Drawing a picture of you killing your teacher is basically a death threat, so yeah they had grounds to arrest him. The fact that the therapist told him to kinda excuses him though, but maybe the police didn't know?
This is what happens with a Zero Tolerance Policy. Does way more harm then good and I don't think its gonna stop school shootings either. It's just something they do to create the illusion of safety.

See, I think that if it were truly harmless, there wouldn't have been any names. If it was just an untitled stick figure battle where everyone was anonymous, that still would have been worrying, but nothing to get upset about. He basically drew a picture of himself killing his teacher, with names and everything. That's completely different.

Understandable that the school would be concerned if he was drawing things in the context of killing teachers, but for frig's sake, do adults just completely ignore children these days? The kid told them his therapist asked him to draw out his frustration so that he wouldn't be driven to commit these acts. They could have easily looked that up on his file as I'm sure it's notated that he has mental issues with ADD/ADHD. The absolute BS about the school not wanting to press charges but having to in the end was absolutely rediculous.

The scariest part is that the police, those who are paid to serve and protect, broke the laws that they uphold. You cannot treat someone who is underage in that manner when dealing with a criminal offense. I'm not even an American and I know that! So what is this child to believe now about his surroundings? If the police won't enforce the law properly, who will? I think that's the type of experience that will drive him to do something truly terrible, not drawing out his frustration on a piece of paper.

It said teacher must die. Is the teacher named Teacher?
If I said "Escapist user must die," it doesn't make it any less of a threat.

oh my.... I was drawing some nasty xxx stuff when i was 11.
If this happend to my kid I would sue, and sue hard. First the police, then the school. After that the individuals involved one by one.

THIS IS RIDICULOUS!

A kid. 11 years old. He's being treated for issues. PSYCHOLOGICAL issues. AND THE POLICE FUCKING ARREST HIM FOR A FUCKING DRAWING???????

This is just fucking unbelievable. What the hell? SERIOUSLY? WHAT THE HELL IS SO WRONG ABOUT A GODDAMN DRAWING?

God, glad that I got that out of my system.

Anyways, that's ridiculous. Downright appalling.

I think the Local Police department where he live's smoke's crack. Just saying. This has happened several times before. A kid get's stressed at school, and get's expelled/arrested for drawing a picture to blow off steam.

I remember this happening to an Islamic kid. He drew a picture of Jesus on the cross (After going on holiday to America) at school and got expelled. Agh, I think law nowadays is basically sticking forks up it's eyes...

You're right, it doesn't make it any less than a threat. You can't get less than 0%
Oh snap!

A threat is a threat, empty or otherwise. Just a couple of weeks ago, some kid threatened to bring a gun to a pep rally and shoot a bunch of people at my school. I'm pretty sure he was kicked out of school and we still have more police officers than usual patrolling and locking all the doors during school hours. You just can't do stuff like that anymore because you don't know who will actually do something. Sure, he was probably just blowing off steam and arresting him was definitely an overreaction and having him talked to would have been a better solution, but he still made a relatively specific threat.

Is there so little crime where the kid lives so all they do is just sit in their offices having a wank and moving out with a SWAT-team for such a little trifle?

Cause' it fucking seems that way
