Hes like haruhi suzimiya. He is the god of that universe but he doent know it. He creates new regions and pokemon but doesnt even reazlize he made it. He does because he is bored. Thats why he has new sidekicks. He even erased brock from exsitence once but missed him too much. hasnt got rid of him since

I was hangin' with me 5-year-old cousin the other day and I saw that he was watching pokemon. I remembered watching the beginning of the series roughly ten or more years ago, and it seems that ash is still going strong.

My question is, why isn't Ash twenty or something years old? Why is he not at home with little Ash behbehs and bangin' hot chicks all the time? And why the HELL is he still collecting badges when by now his Pikachu must be at a level >9000? He must be a famous pokemon GOD by now, right?
Ash has only aged 1 year since the beginning of his quest to travel the world in search of poon. (oh come on. You know that kid's gettin some. Brock sure isn't.) This may seem odd, but it's pretty common throughout media. The Simpsons has been on for more than a decade and maggie's still a baby.

Pikachu has a tendency of being incredibly powerful at the end of certain regions, but ends up recieving unexplained power downs when beginning a new region.

Ash is never able to become champion, always losing in the preliminary tournaments to combating the elite four. Some theorize that he would win if he kept his most powerful pokemon with him rather than leaving them to catch new ones in new regions.

The show formula, however, will never change, because it's the show formula. "We need for Ash to catch new pokemon so we can show off the new generations so kids will buy the game!"

"If he wins and becomes a master, we have to end the series, and we can't pay for our hookers and blow!"

Personally, I would kill for an anime adaptation of the pokemon manga, Pokemon Special (or pokemon adventure if you're reading the localized version). It follows the plots of the games, more tightly, has a dark, serious feel to it, (first arc, an arbok is sliced in half), and is infinitely more badass. (Trainers can send out as many pokemon as they want, and the fucking fight alongside them.

What bothers me more is the fact that team rocket has been stalking him the whole time.

It's always weird when you realize that, really, no ones getting any action in that universe. Where like holding hands or hugging is considered a big thing, apparently.

I don't think you're meant to think too much into that fact. I think pokemon was made as a kiddy-anime (that still appeals to people of all ages, be it nostalgia or whatever) and that they can't have a character evolve to a more mature stage when the show is aimed at kids. The main character must be relateble and the first step is apparently to keep him the same age as the viewers.

On an different note: The Sinnoh League is coming up. Woohoo! *He says in a monotone voice and spins his hands around* T_T

Well I think it's safe to say that Ash has a disability or two screwing him up. Maybe they affect his growth? I mean come on there's no way someone in their right frame of mind wouldn't make a move on so much potential;

Because they hate us. Most of the origional fans were about the same age as Ash. Imagine if he grew up with us? Obviously the show would have to get more mature too, but it would have made it...good. I swear, its so cut and paste now its sickening.

Well..according to Bulbapedia, Ash hasn't aged since he left Pallet Town (he's still 10 apperently o-O )..Same with the whole "Gotta Catch'em All" thing, they ended up dropping that whole thing from the show because the American dubbers released Ash wasn't doing that good of a job at it (in the whole series so far, he's only caught about 50)

Meh..who cares about inconsistencies when there's money to be made and anime to be watched
Amen comrade

You may want to delete that. It may get you in trouble with the mods.

Correct the children, dont let them watch the anime! Let them read the manga its better for them in terms of intelligence and plots that make more sense

Simple, 4kids is making money. So they will keep the series going until it is totally dead and empty. Just like they did with Yugioh. Hey, why fix what ain't broke?
