yes but if the Netherlands where to be in trouble the other countries would help out the only way to fix it is if they where to change the requirments ot join the EU

If I may take the opportunity to answer this one... I think we would be better off if we wer independant, for several reasons. As you probably know, our country's economie is largely dependant on the in-export of products from our harbors. But here we are, striking deals for what not to get the taxrate on these products down (you can guess the outcome..) We had a lot of naval specialities, but the government slowly pulls the plug on these funds.
Cities like Amsterdam, known for all kinds of things (may they be seen as good or bad, regarding it's regulations) are slowly turning into a place much like the same of everything else because it has to comply to what the EU thinks is tolerable and thus kissing the tourists goodbye in the future.
