What I've always 'wondered' about is, what do you feel when you are confronted with a "guys thing" in a game? Let me give you an example of what I mean.

In our guild in WoW we have a couple of female players, all (like the males) with their own vices and good traits. While they are all generally friendly and seemingly fit in, I wonder what they'd be like if I could see them at specific moments. For example, after I (accidently) told one of them to "get in between me and Dak" (another player) on ventrilo, it was taken as a rather suggestive innuendo, though the girl in question remained fairly calm and joked "I wouldn't say no to that".

It's kind of impossible to imagine a guy in the situation she was in, so I wonder, what do you do if something like that happens to you? Are you glad we can't see you and knowingly shake your head? Do you sigh to yourself and say "Well, part of the culture"? Or do you secretly become annoyed with us and our obsessive sexual behaviour?

I'm asking, basically, because I don't know the people who wind up in these situations very well, and projecting these situations on females I know from real-life would give really odd results.

Heheh, woman.

Good one, bro.

[sup]And now for something not blatantly sexist..[/sup]

How often do you use profanity or sexual innuendo?
In front of guys? Not much. When it's just us girls? A lot.

I fail to see what gender has to do with making a person special. It's just a arbitrary mix of X and Y chromosomes that determines whether someone is male of female. I guess I may as well ask a question since I'm here, though;
Actually its just the presence of Y or not. (Im sorry, I was a biology major, its compulsive)

But I guess I would ask you how many guys are immediately attracted to you solely based on the fact that youre a geek, meaning that they have a shot automatically in their mind

*Watches the bandwagon whip by* "HEY!"

Anywho... *jumps on said bandwagon* Since there's quite a few here who are asking "relationship" themed questions, I'll ask one and make a complete and total generalization out of it.

Do you run into attraction more often on a physical or cerebral level?

I've been meaning to make a thread about this asking all girls on this site, but...

What do you find most attractive in a guy? Looks strictly speaking. Is it a muscular body? Perhaps a handsome face? Or maybe a average guy with awesome clothes and hair is what gets ya?

I wonder because is it a simple matter of working out? Alotta guys groan about how girls don't even look at them, but is it just a matter of hitting the gym?

Understandably, it's kinda a hard question to answer, but I'm interested because...well I can't really tell what guys are attractive or not.

One more thing, do you feel weird when you see characters that are obvious penis strokers for guys? I mean that Twilight article by MovieBob really made me think about how guys make fun of Twilight for being for hormonal teenage girls, while there are hundred of things for hormonal teenage guys. Which is why I won't hate on Twilight and might even read the books.
It's really, really subjective with girls. Part of why guys think we're schizophrenic is we all have different answers to that question. At least physically, I'll repeat that number one for any girl is good hygiene, followed by a healthy body, yes, we may gush a bit about muscley-ness, but it's not on most women's checklist. (Yes, the mythical checklist is real, although mine consists of "capable of being attractive and can make me swoon with his witticism and geeky knowledge". Yes, I swoon at intelligence.) Also, most girls I know don't like facial hair. There are a few exceptions, but if we like you we generally want to kiss *you* not your furry face-pet.

Why are you so few? Where do you all hide out? I only know like 3, and out of those 3 only 1 is my friend.
That's because we're always so busy saving the world from zombies, of course.

It ussually goes that the shallow ones prefer guys with good looks and often don't care if they have 40 more IQ points. It's the more intellectual ones (the ones who can have intellectual conversations without "like" being every other word) who seek out their mental equals.

I prefer mind over matter. However if I can get a man whom I can have talks with about the American Healthcare system and socialized medicine and just happens to be handsome, I'm good with that too.

Yeah I've got a question. How can you tell if a girl is a geek girl (And I'm in the mindset that you're talking about geeky as in maybe she plays games or watches sci-fi, not the steretypical blobs of fat and acne image of being a geek).
Yes, and in fact I don't really know any stereotypical girl geeks like that. Although maybe they just don't leave their homes.

As for spotting geek girls, there are a few staples of geekdom that I think at least clue in to a good or potential geek girl. Book-addiction. If she's carrying around a book, especially when paired with a pair of glasses, that's a good sign. Plus a good quippy t-shirt. And possibly basing a hair-cut or two on favorite TV characters(What can I say, I went through a Starbuck phase early in the BSG craze). Also, I've noticed a tendency among us toward carrying sketchbooks or notebooks everywhere. Even the mall and such.

When in doubt, ask her what her favorite TV shows are. The illiterate sometimes stare at you blankly when you ask about books.

Do you find tattoos attractive? I have a feeling that it's the key to my success in general with women, besides that I can make anyone with half a sense of humor laugh.

Also: the intimidation factor works GREAT for people who love to heckle others in public.

This is a picture of me taken just a couple months ago for a wee demonstration.

Yeah. Pretty much.

I don't see much difference between geek girls, and general girls. I know enough about general girls.

I don't really mind tattoos, just so long as they have one or two and it doesn't completely engulf a section of their body.

I seriously doubt the average girl would be able to have a talk about the advantages a Supermarine Spitfire had over a Messerschmitt BF109, or give you a serious critique on the phylisophical message in a loli fanserveice anime, or be able to come up with battel plans on the fly in a military simulation game.

Do stances matter so much, or is it typically just the ability to have said conversation without it turning into a heated argument?

on a scale of one to ten, Ten being the highest.

How offended are you at the "somewhat sexualised" representation of females in a majority of the gaming culture? In accordance with Laura Mulveys "male gaze" theory?

Got a gamer geek friend doing that for coursework. She'd love to know.

I remember the other threads just like this that popped up over the years. They ended up the same way: disaster.

That said, to the geeky girls out there, what attracts you to the internet?

Do you geek girls prefer gamiing with other girl gamers or guys as well? Do you intentionally seek out people to play?

P.S. Any of you on XBL can add me :) I prefer girls cuz they don't act like idiots like most guys on XBL Hopefully I'll get a 360 and XBL by Christmas
It depends on our mood. We have a meter on the side of our screens called a "Guy Meter" for how long we can stand the testosterone before we need a Girl Day Power-Up.

Uh yeah here's my question

What makes you think you are so special?

Geek girls were all the rave back in the early net days, but now they are commonplace. You are part of a dime a dozen crop.
I know, I invite them to answer questions too, just thought I'd have some fun with this thread and I have.

It depends on the individual. I, for one, can have highly intellectual arguments and debates about almost anything and will not degenerate into a flamer.

I really don't mind it, just so long as it doesn't degenerate to the point "ZOMG 4 G1RL L3t5 CYB3R!"
