You own a gun because you like to shoot, yet you use it for self-defense?Cody211282 said:Because it's a right and they are fun to shoot. I dont name my guns.Alphavillain said:I'm sure you get asked this all the time, but do you give your guns names? If so, are they guy names or girl names? I always think a gun should have a nice short, curt name, like Sean, although I'm quite partial to Louise. The obvious choice would be Bonnie and Clyde for a matching pair.
I'm not sure on the protocol of calling a very phallic object a man's name other than one's own, unless gun owners call their pieces by the nnames they give to their penises. And I don't really want to dwell on that.
They are great fun to learn, challenging at the same timeDudemeister said:What's with all the guns?Mathurin said:I am a gun owner and I think sometimes people dont know things about guns and want to.
So, ask away.
It almost is, in an automatic handgun an empty magazine causes the slide to stay open.bernthalbob616 said:How do you reload a handgun? It can't be as simple as pulling out the magazine and sticking a new one in.
I dont have many, and I dont keep pictures, but the weird ones would be a replica 1851 navy revolver (black powder revolver) and a shortened double barrel shotgunHaraDaya said:I'm kinda disappointed in all the "joke" posts already in this thread. Felt like I wasn't on The Escapist for a moment.
I'm a bit of a gun nut myself, but sadly I don't have much experience being from Denmark and all. Firearms are not allowed. You can get a hunting permit but that only allows hunting rifles or whatever. No sidearms.
I did fire an M4 in the army though.
I would like to see pictures of your collection too. I love esoteric/weird firearms.
Bother it! Ninja'd. I would also like to know this.Discon said:How does one commit murder with a gun, without getting caught?
Certainly.Mathurin said:I dont know what a "glock wall" is, could you be more specific?
Never heard about the lazy police, or high Danish crime rate.HaraDaya said:...I don't have much experience being from Denmark and all. Firearms are not allowed. ....
...okay, I'll break it down for you:Rickyvantof said:You own a gun because you like to shoot, yet you use it for self-defense?Cody211282 said:Because it's a right and they are fun to shoot. I guess you're a person who has to defend himself a lot then...
Only slightly, the problem is that even smaller guns are totally deadly if used properly, so the old "get a bigger gun" thing means absolutely nothing at all.zenfox3 said:Do you find this funny?
"Remember, guns dont kill people.
Guns protect people from people with smaller guns."
The old "if they were never invented" thought?Pr0 InSaNiTy said:Do you ever feel that if no-one had guns, the world would be a better place?
Not entirely true. They can go off by themselves. When my dad was in the navy, one of his friends guns went off and shot him in the arse. (The gun was holstered, safety on and it still went off) of course, the chances of this happening are very rare.Mathurin said:they cause no harm by themselves, they are tools which require a person to activate.
It means shooting a pattern and then adjusting the scope so the pattern lines up with the center of the target. You usually want to do this with the gun in a vise. Then you adjust the vise so target lines up with the sights or the cross hairs with a scope.Shurikens and Lightning said:What does "zeroing in" mean when you are adjusting a scope?
Probably because people see the worst case scenario and with guns you get a fear of mass murder I guess?Cryo84R said:Lot's but never with a gun. No not my bare hands either!Echer123 said:How many people have you killed?
And don't lie, I know it's at least one.
What's with all the gun hate people? Guns are a useful tool. My wife knows her way around one almost better than I do and we keep a couple around for home defense. Why is that so terrible?
