Its not a "gun" as we know in todays modern terms. He doesnt take out an m16 and start puting lead into his targets. But yea, he has a wrist-launcher "gun". Its obvious it fires only one shot and takes toime to load, so its most likely something you load in preperation for an assassination, and then use it at the right moment. I think it looks really cool.

For many reasons really, the fact it was mostly story over gameplay. (Which at the time most games were losing, and so it was kind of like a reminder) The fact it combined acrobatic free running with just about ever object in the game (Think [Prototype] style but instead of the "jump over this" or "run across this" you had some real thinking needed as well, for instance "can i jump this?" or "does that lead anywhere" etc.).

Well the throwing knifes were only effective vs. normal enemies or peasants, against the Templar knights or assassination targets, it was useless, the only use i found with one was during an assassination, the target was running away, the knife hit and stopped the target for a moment, which allowed to knife my target.

Adding firearms is a recipe for disaster, but if they do it right, then it will be welcome, i doubt it will make the game "insanely good".
Hmmm... I'm not sure if I agree with you on that part, to me AC was basically GTA without the vehicles and a bit of parkour? As for 'thinking', I'm pretty sure most jumps and passageways were scalable and escapable unless they were very obviously otherwise (i.e a ridiculously long gap), this made free-running work in AC but also detracted from the reality a little imo.

Storywise, I agree with you. It was refreshing to have something that focused a little more on plot and characters and the dialogue was notably well written.

I stand by what I meant by 'insanely good', think a little more about the applications of a long distance projectile. Also, if they're trying to enhance the historic quality of the game then firearms are unavoidable in the inclusion.
I think you should give the developers a chance, rather than shutting them down at the first hint of a gameplay function that you don't quite 100% agree with.

Admittedly AC1 was a little lacklustre in a few respects, i agree there, but i have 2 times I'll forgive a few faults, 1. If a game is being ported to another console (i.e. Dynasty Warriors 6) or 2. If its the first game of that brand (in this instance Assassins Creed. Note: I'll only forgive ONE game of that brand, so if Dynasty Warriors 7 is bad, THEN i can call it bad)

I agree with that, as a long range weapon goes it could being an upgrade from the throwing knifes, in that, it travels MUCH faster then the knifes for example.

Also, im not saying its going to be bad or jumping to a conclusion, im just saying it can go REALLY bad, but it also can be good, IF the devs. round it well.

It's not that hard to believe, he's got a single shot black power pistol. Really all you need is a hole in a pipe it and an ignition.

Haha, you're about 100 times more forgiving than me.

In my opinion, if developers are gunna pump out a game and expect people to buy it, they should work their balls to the wall to make it perfect.

Yeah, it has A gun. But it's not an assault/sniper rifle with full-auto capability. It's a flintlock pistol that's really inaccurate and probably will only be good at taking down heavily armored targets at close range. We'll be fine.

Well then adding a gun, they should break there balls to make it work.

I think the gun will be like most guns back then.

Single shot, takes 3 minutes to reload and judging by its small size probably inaccurate over any significant distance.

Possibly if you use it to assassinate, it has to be from close to mid range and the loud bang will piss of every guard on that city block.

Perfectly balanced, nothing to worry about.

In the end, does it really matter? The gun is probably going to take the place of the throwing knives in the first game, but with a lot slower rate of fire.

its entirely possible there wont even be a gun in the game, in one of the Assassins Creed cinematic trailers he uses a small crossbow that never made it into the game

According to what I've heard, basic guns apparently existed at the time period in Italy that AC 2's taking place in, so it's not that unrealistic. I doubt guns are going to steal ALL of the blades' collective thunder.

I think that it'll b used maybe in some kinda boss fight or something epic. I dont think it'll be used anytime you want if it'll even be used. Btw the new assassins name will be Ezio auditore-something del Firenze. He will be able to swim and pull of a double assassination. I.m getting it!

The way it's used in the trailer, I think it will be similar to the hidden blade in the first one, as in you can't really use it if people are aware of it.

That said, even if they do make the gun really imbalanced, it won't come close to the awesomeness of stabbity stabbity with swords. So I wouldn't use it that much.

While guns without silencers aren't exactly stealthy, you got to consider that it takes place in Renaissance Italy, and that Ezio is friends with Da Vinchi. It was a prototype, so I doubt people back then knows what a gun is, or what it sounds like.

They'll probably think it's thunder.

But still, IT"S A FUCKING HIDDEN GUN!

It does not have guns.
The Assassin (can't remember how to spell his name)launches propelled blades from some sort of mechanised sling attached to his gauntlet.
There was a farmer that had an assassin and Ezio was his name o! E-Z-I-O, E-Z-I-O, E-Z-I-O and Ezio was his name o!
