Assassin's Creed Brotherhood makes me punch the couch

My main problems were the
Camera & Jumping issues

Christ I hate the climbing missions. The point where the camera spins right at that moment to show you where you're supposed to jump and you accidentally leap the wrong way makes me want to go and punch the crap out of someone. What makes this even more frustrating are those levers with a time limit.

Instant-fail missions

I hate these missions too. Why does a drop assassination work but walking up to them and plunging my blade into their chest not work? There was no bloody difference in the sound they produce! They go "ARG-" in both instances!

Can't speak about Brotherhood as I'm yet to play it, but on AC2 these problems are very minor to me, and I'm enjoying the game a lot. If something goes wrong it's usually my own fault.
I hope they haven't messed up Brotherhood...

They havn't, people just like to blame Ezio when they mess up.

Can't say I had any of these issues, although the war machines weren't as good as they could have been - I found infiltrating my way to the blueprints and them much more interesting.

I really don't get that many issues with the controls if I'm honest, and on the Colosseum mission all you have to do is run along the straight path that they show you when the camera pans around.

I rarely had any of these problems in AC2, and they were there every second mission in Brotherhood.

Oh look, it's the old 'you suck at the game' argument.

You would think after 3 games and 80 hours play, the controls would be intuitive enough for these kind of things not to happen, but it still happened.

Sure, we all mess up sometimes but there were definite occasions where the free-running mechanic did some crazy and illogical things.

Never said anyone sucked at the game. If you watch most people play games, they will instantly blame the character for things that went wrong.

I'm merely going from personal experience. If Ezio messed up on my game, it was usually because i had been rushing too much and therefore was holding the analouge stick in the wrong way. Simple answer was just to slow down a tad.

My friend on party chat however, every single mission he was bitching and moaning about Ezio apparently becoming sentient and flinging himself off of buildings for the sole reason of wanting to annoy him.

It's a similar thing when i see people play multiplayer. When i play Halo with my friends for instance, they are convinced that the person that just shot them is using some form of cheap tactic, or is actively cheating.

Of course, this may just be bias as i love all things Assassin's Creed.

Under normal circumstances I agree, but when you are being timed (as happened in many, many missions in brotherhood - usually to get the 100% sync) slowing it down is not an option.

Nah, I love the game too. But that won't stop me pointing out its (few) flaws, as they really marred the experience for me. I don't ever remember getting mad at AC2, apart from the flying mission, as it didn't really give you a chance to get used to the controls.

I think the 100% sync challenges were a bad idea, as they turn the game from fun into frustrating and overly cheap.

I just started playing it yesterday. Pretty epic so far. Pretty much identical to part 2 with more stuff to do and a seemingly larger world thus far. No complaints here. Good fun! Only time will tell though lol.
The world is a lot smaller than the one in AC2 but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Rome feels a good size to me, not too overwhelming but big enough to be epic.

They seem to have used far less building models this time around though. Environmental repetition is very bad in Brotherhood.

What got on my nerves was the guards respawning in the war machine missions if you fail, even if you pass a checkpoint.

I haven't played Brotherhood yet, but if the free running is exactly like AC2 then I shouldn't have a problem. Rarely did I ever run into a part where Ezio did something I didn't want him to do. I can make AC2 dance. I guess we'll see about Brotherhood.

I've said it from the beginning that the controls on Brotherhood are buggy. I've spent hours doing a mission because Ezio chooses to jump in the wrong direction or do something that results in me loosing my 100% sync, and me being the anal person I am I will restart the memory so I can get that 100%
I'm the same, and for that very reason I hated the 100% sync mechanic as it made me have far less fun with the game than I did with AC2.
Well to be fair, you don't have to get the 100% synch. I can understand your frustration though.

True - you don't have to, but you miss out on some of the best story content in the game if you don't get most of them done.

I wish you could have unlocked those Christina Missions in a more fun way, like getting all the flags or all ten feathers or something.

And what the hell was with getting NO reward for the feathers? Why were they even there?

Oh I see. I wasn't aware that they unlocked content. I thought it was just for achievement points.

Yeah, if it were just for an achievement I wouldn't give a shit about them, but I wanted to see what happened with Christina!

I'll agree with you there on the timers.

But there was one thing that pissed me off the most (big, end of the game spoilers here people)

I didn't get to kill any of the Borgia family! Even the two that did die, died in cutscenes. Rodrigo was force fed a poison apple by his Cesare and died. Lucrezia lived and Cesare was picked up and thrown off a wall by Ezio, you didn't even get to see his body hit the ground. Damn you Ubisoft! I was looking forward to each one of them tasting the steel of my hidden blades!
Not just that but apparently Ezios blades can be used to take off armour and clothes rather efficiently (a.k.a Cesare). I'm sure that's what Altair envisioned his blades being used for....

I didn't like the War Machines either.

EXCEPT FOR THE TANK! Man that was bad-ass. Made you feel all like Haters gonna hate.

There were also more clipping and animation synch issues than AC II or I. Kind of bugged me when I finished a dramatic assassination mission only to shove my hidden blade into the air about six inches above his head when killing him.

It is similar with a few improvements actually unfortunately it isn't as fine tuned as in AC II and there are several tombs that will fuck you over because Ezio jumps a little too far to the left or the right of what you were aiming for.

Also in regards to those who have finished the game.

Anyone else remember that line from Sean about how Ezio could probably help but he can't because he is dead? Did anyone else get it into their heads that it was foreshadowing that they were going to find Ezio alive in suspended animation or something? The real ending disappointed me because I thought something really awesome was going to happen. Do not get me wrong the ending was good it just seems like something cooler could have happened.

Also the armor of Romulus looks kind of stupid.
