That "concept art" assault rifle is the main assault rifle the enemies use in Killzone. Basically, 60 round drum magazine with under barrel 12 gauge shotgun
Seems pretty effective to me, it's like a bullup drum magzine.

Wonder why we don't have them in real life...

AK 74. cheap and stylish. this is assuming I don't have to fight against armies of swat teams.

I'll go with this also. All these fancy guns here looks good, but AK has been forever in use in various countries. (I don't know how the AUG or the XM works when throw them into dirt and then use them) Robust and accurate. I don't need anything else.

Yes, it's ugly as dirt, but unbeatable in so many respects. Nothing better than this for actually defending something/one. Anything non-bullpup is good maybe for cover fire.

Nice choice, but it's not an assault rifle, it's a SMG.

Mine is the Sig 552: compact, and uses the lower recoil 5.56 rounds.

The Sig 552 is an assault rifle. It fires a rifle round instead of a pistol round, thus making it a rifle.

Edit: Forgot to post the gun...

Sig 556, accuracy of the AR-15 platform. Better firing mechanism so it's less prone to jams.

Hard to use? That thing has like the minimal number of parts that rifle can have. Cheap, robust and simple. Thats the whole point of it. Accurate too, but it comes also to the shooter. No gun is accurate if the shooter is terrible
