Atheism is simply to believe in no gods.
Theists - Believe in god
Monotheists - 1 god
Polytheists - multiple gods
Atheist - No gods
That is it in it's simplest form. If you have no god, then you are an atheist, no justification needed.
Even if you don't participate in organised religion it does not make you an atheist because you may still believe in a god.
And about all this "knowing", noone knows, people believe but cannot be sure for certain no matter how much they say it is true. I believe there is no god therefore I am an atheist, I don't KNOW there isn't one, but that does not change my belief.

No. That's what *you* mean when *you* talk about atheism. The word itself has a storied history and its precise meaning is still argued over today. This is largely because atheism has no foundational philosophical text (there is no book or essay that is to atheism what, say, Das Kapital is to Marxism), and in fact is a word that was originally a charge or insult, that was only later reclaimed for self-descriptive purposes. As I said, it all comes down to belief over knowledge.
You can believe that God doesn't exist while knowing that you'll never truly know until you die.
There are agnostical theists as well who hold the opposite belief.
Oh and I'm not a theist.
"God", as a man who looks upon you from a sky as I perceive it, is just a man and that there are millions of the same men looking at each other as one would look upon cells underneath a microscope. The thing about observation is the more one examines an object the more layers one uncovers. The concept of infinity takes hold during the search for nothingness.
I also see belief in God as the same as a belief in ideals. That is, they are both intuitive subjective experiences stemming from the mind. The only ideal I would follow is one that embraces all pain and all joys, which presumably means that if I were to follow an ideal and that ideal falls short or is disproved by perceived reality, then I would accept that loss (the "shedding of old skin" as Nietzsche puts it).
I call myself an atheist but given as such, I would perhaps be a polytheist as well because I fully acknowledge that certain concepts have the potential to become ideals.
I just know that I am not an Agnostic.

I disagree. Few people in high school know what they belive most of them will go with what their parents tell them to belive. I've known some who just aren't intrested in Religion and aren't botherd either way, but I've met very few high school kids who have actually made up their minds about what religion they belive in. I know when I was in high school I had an open mind and I listend in my R.E classes about all the different religions. But it wasn't until I had actually left high school and became more intrested in the theory of evoloution, that I became an atheist, because I felt that after listening to all the other theorys, the theory of Evoloution made the most sense to me. I also went to Church and Sunday School as a kid. (just saying that so I cant be accused of not hearing the Curches view.)The Ruler of Nosgoth said:
