Oh wow, ironically last night I was actually surfing through Youtube to look up Persona Dual mixes from one of my favorite dual mixers... and they were gone, the uploader too.
Welp, I really hope this Russian skank and her company of... idots? yeah, idiots, gets smacked by Youtube soon for false accusation on such a grand scale.

EDIT: They even got rid of the Hiimdasy dub?! A harmless friking Persona comic got flagged for having the OST too?!

*face. @#$%ing. palm.*
Xcell935, behold, YouTube's shitty copyright system! :D
You think it's bad now, you should see what a lot of other LPers have to go through when dealing with this system, it's not fun I'll tell you. Although ironically once you find out the system you can just as easily exploit it, just like how these publishers are doing. Could be worse, it could be Viacom filing the stuff again, but they've avoided YouTube since Google gloriously handed them their own asses in court.
(One of the few instances in which Google did a good thing for the YT community)
Oh, I am quite aware of Youtube's horrible, easily abusable, copyright/flagging system (#1 reason I despise YouTube). I've even seen fools try to defend/bend it to their liking.

But when you attack my favorite company and the uploaders that got me into the music/games...
You better believe people are gonna die by the end of the day.

Oh definitely, it's why I'm starting to transition more and more to the LPing site Game Anyone, because it's been around since 2006 and has thousands of gameplay videos of even new games before they come out and there aren't really many copyright issues at all, plus the owner Maceman actually posts on the forums and communicates with everyone. This is just another instance of me wanting to switch. Sadly though I'd have to reupload everything to Game Anyone since YouTube changed it's codecs and Maceman can't transfer my videos anymore. T^T

Either way though, this isn't really SEGA's doing, but this is definitely trolls. If in fact it were SEGA then they'd literally be committing suicide as a business because no fan would wanna buy from them after a stunt like this. The LPing community is still pissed about the Shining Force thing.

How has google STILL not blocked this troll ass Russian?
The person supposedly "shut it down." But even then there are multiple accounts being made to do this. I'm amazed that no one remembers when this happened a few years ago to Chuggaconroy and NintendoCapriSun as someone made hundreds of bot accounts and was reporting their content which resulted in both of them getting banned. YouTube didn't unban them until later after investigating, and even then they only investigated because they were threatened with multiple lawsuits from other people.

In any case, there's some debate over whether it was actually the russian actress's fault or not, since she supposedly knew nothing about it until angry persona fans sent her hate mail (and then shut her own channel down to get away from all the rude comments posted on her videos).
Regardless of who is doing this (outside of anyone who actually owns the rights), Youtube really needs to knuckle down on this nonsense. Its ATLUS stuff being targeted now, what will be next if this isn't stopped or at least made so difficult its not worth the effort for these people to do?

Yeah, I heard about this a while back. It's pretty fuckin' pathetic. I'm surprised Atlus haven't said anything about this, since this is pretty much a direct attack against them and their fans.

Sega couldn't have picked a worse time to buy Atlus, people will now blame Sega instead of looking into it and getting pissed off with the right people.

(Don't get me wrong, fuck Sega. But they will be the ones people assume are responsible.)

WHAT?!?! THEY DELETED THE HIIMDAISY COMIC DUB?!?! >

THIS! IS! WAR!!!!

I loved that comic dub. Now I can never again hear the "HELLOOOOOOOOOOOO" gag, nor the "Ace detective" gag again!

... Hey, Atlus? This is an assault on your fanbase, and we will rise up and attack like rabid demons if you ask us to. Answer this woman's passionless slap to the face with the roar of a million Pyro Jacks and Black Frosts! >: o

EDIT: Oh. Some people have already started re-uploading the comics, and the responsible party has fled Youtube with her tail between her legs because of the fan retaliation. Good. That makes be feel a tiny bit better.

It would ring true; Sega are particularly heavy handed with controlling anything they deem to be their content, judging from what they did with the Streets of Rage & Sonic Remakes. Has anyone released any kind of statement?
And yet, Chris-Chan continues to menace the internet...

I wonder why. Makes me imagine a bunch of lawyers stuck in a conference room, trying to figure out if Sonichu is similar enough to Sonic to justify a CaD.

Again? Has she done this kind of thing before?
It's still the same issue as before, only it's still continuing it seems. That's why I think it's possibly bots that are pretending to be her, like how it was from the beginning. This first started at the beginning of September and is still going on it seems, which is just great.
Oh YouTube, never getting daddy Google to fix what's broken unless you go to him holding a court date in your hands I see. XD

Oh good.

I normally find the internet fanbase response to anything to be over-the-top, but in this glorious exception, I am very glad that someone is facing the wrath of the Internet.

Now, let's just hope people can crush this person without resorting to threats of personal violence. It would be a nice touch for the internet mob to keep it classy for once.

Too late. Rabid fans already went on the YouTube channel and destroyed the person with threats so vulgar that it would have made /b and Reddit cringe with disgust. The channel is gone, but the time it was up it showed the ugly side of Persona's fanbase...and I thought the Sonic the Hedgehog fanbase could get bad.

I think it's because she has an album or something named "Persona" and she's either vain/stupid enough to think every Persona video is hers or she's just trying to get notoriety.

SEGA isn't heavy handed with their copyrights...some weird BS exploded with Shining Force and that's about it. There's countless fan games and mods, they've come out and praised a few. 90% of the time they don't seem to care.

The only thing was the Shining series and I couldn't tell you why but there's a conspiracy theory on youtube, something about the fans 'annoying' the head designer or something.

If the soundtrack adds additional content, then fine, but paying twice for something I own already? Lolno. That's just asking to be a cashcow.
If you aren't willing to buy the OSTs then don't, simple as that. Go to a torrent site or extract the files yourself or whatever. But don't expect to be able to listen to the music for free just because you think "there's no harm" and then complain when you can't anymore. The stuff is copyrighted for a reason.
Same shit, different method. Common sense says it's fair use, since I bought the game WITH the soundtrack included inside the game files. So are let's plays and fan creations, and companies should be thankful for the exposure which creates more demand for their actual products.
That sounds more like you not wanting to pay for an actual OST and trying to justify yourself. If you want to listen to the music that's on the game files; then boot up the game, turn the volume up and let the game idle at that part. As for companies being grateful for exposure which creates more demand... HAHAHAH... no... not in the OST world. Many OST's that are sold are usually bootleg knock-offs. Most people see nothing but a price difference when comparing two devices, and they usually go with the cheaper one which is the fake. Seeing something online doesn't help spread demand as if someone encounters it online, they're more likely to just keep experiencing it online and not put some capital out there to have their own copy; especially when something is out of print and/or rare (which means expensive).
OST CDs are an accessory to the game. And the availability of OSTs on youtube is exposure for the game itself. I've introduced several friends to games through showing them the OST. And get real, I'm not going to open the game just to listen to the soundtrack when I'm using my PC. I have it on in the background, on youtube or foobar.

People can't be blamed for choosing not to get ripped off for expensive/ out of print soundtracks. Few are stupid enough to buy a 30 quid CD when they can just rip it.
If your desire is to be lazy and call people stupid for buying actual product that goes towards supporting the developer, then there's no room for discussion. You think you're entitled to it just because you bought the game and people who tend to spend money on other merchandise is stupid. So in your regard, I'm stupid. At the same time I'm not lazy and won't need to complain when something gets taken off youtube.
Do you always do everything the pointlessly hard and needlessly expensive way? That's just asking to be exploited for every penny you're worth, in one's humble opinion.

I am supporting the developer. By buying most of their games reliably, usually at launch. I am entitled to just a little back in return in such a mutually beneficial relationship, wouldn't you say.... and besides, this isn't about entitlement, it's about common sense and fair use.

I'm all for buying merchandise which adds something. Figurines, posters, t-shirts, special editions, etc. But original soundtracks straight from the game, nope, make them freely available for fans to celebrate and enjoy over and over.

Have you ever listened to a soundtrack on youtube, I wonder?

I consider it being a fan, on top of other things I do. I also wouldn't consider it an entitlement, all you bought was the game. Which isn't saying much since pretty much everything Atlus releases outside of Japan receives a limited press and will be snatched up sooner much before later. Exceptions being the few games they did a second or Greatest Hits print of. You complain about losing the ability to listen to the music when a youtube video/page is taken down, you didn't buy an OST and don't want to listen to the music through the medium which you purchased; you're entitled, no common sense, just greed.
You're calling me greedy now? Really? If that were the case I'd just pirate everything.

Go for it, just don't cry when you download a malicious file or the leaked version doesn't let you progress properly.
Wow, that was fast. No I'll pass. I have principles on this sort of thing.

Evidently, you don't really grasp the situation Atlus - or most JRPG- fans are in. OSTs are in short supply. There is a limit to how many people can 'own' a copy of Atlus soundtracks. Besides, they're usually sold second-hand at extortionate prices beyond the release date. ATLUS aren't losing anything because someone doesn't buy a second-hand soundtrack that won't ever be released again.
