I just simply accept that it doesn't exist and that it will only live in a fictional plane of existence and get on with my life.

Though on the note of the depression, I agree. That world was so beautiful and stunning that I felt that depression after coming back to reality.

Cursed reality. We need to fix it.
Exactly! Good words friend.
Which words?
The "I just simply accept that it doesn't exist and that it will only live in a fictional plane of existence and get on with my life."
Or "Cursed Reality. We need to fix it."

umm... most of them? Although i do have a problem with the word "reality" you'll have to run that by my again, you just aren't getting a signal from that one over here. The Reality fixing thing i am good with, and i am all for living in a dream world. And the bit about it being slightly depressing to emerge from that movie into real life.

I've tried plumbing up some sympathy for these people. I really have. But it just isn't happening, right now all I feel for them ranges from a simple "Slap them round the head" to the more complex "Somehow create a navi and crucify it outside their house"

Harsh maybe but shit I hate dumbasses.

Really?!
I would have loved it if they burned the entire planet to get at the unobtainium.
I prefer our cities to that stone age socioty that the Na'vi have.
Hell, why didn't they just genocide the Na'vi with WMD's or something?!
....when the Humans blew the home tree to bits and when the Na'vi were charging the Humans on horses and on foot and the Humans greeted them with a wall of high velocity metal....oh yes.
I bet you were also in support of the pilgrims raping and slaughtering the native americans?
Fuck off troll.
Note how she has both been here longer AND has a higher post count.

Not really a troll then? She just has a different opinion to you. Live with it.
Thank you.
I can't believe he has not gotten Mod Wrath yet. -_-
The mods are not as easy to invoke as many people think. I don't hope he's right though, and that you really think that (not about the movie, that's just a movie). Nah you won't, that'd be KKK level of evil. Given, your proposed ending would've been rather surprising. Humanity's mechs (with friggin' bayonet's and bowie knives) > weird horse things though, although flying on a skarin is probably a lot more awesome than one of those gyrocopters.

But still, meeh. Pandora was basically one big connected organism, such a discovery would've been way to important to squander for simple cash. You're all for technological development? Think of all the applications for such bio-network technology! Pandora's way too interesting to just destroy, instead research it, there's enough stuff to discover there for dozens of generations of scientists.

But then again, an ending in which the Na'vi and humans would work out their differences and end up in 1 big hippy group-hug would've been so sweet that my teeth would've spontaneously started rotting in my mouth.

So I'm to be compared to the KKK here?
My opinion is not evil, the resource was obviously important for humanity's growth if it was worth so much, that's why I justify killing off the Na'vi for it.
No, that's not what I said. Only if you didn't mind the slaughter of the Native Americans, as the troll suggested. That would've been KKK levels of evil. The movie is just a movie. The Na'vi were pretty annoying anyway.

The movie didn't say that it was important though, just that it raked in lots of dough. There's a difference between that and actually being necessary. Who knows, maybe it was used to make ultra-realistic pleasure dolls. We'll never know.

Still, I don't see the point in murdering the Na'vi for it though. Negotiations are so much easier and, very important, less lethal for both sides. I'd rather keep our boys out of harms way

I prefer our tech to flying a dragon to be honest.
Eh.....wa....uh.... Have you no imagination woman?! It's a dragon!!! Like....ROAR and WOOSH and...stuff. And it can rip people's heads off, especially that big Turok thing! And...and... *awesomegasm*

*ahem* That was my boyhood playing up, I think.

Lets just take the best of both worlds, Na'vi and humanity combined:

Why choose? Just mix!

That doesn't mean we can't still kill off the Na'vi.
What's the point? They know the most about the planet, plus if humanity would've just went there to research and didn't get greedy, I doubt any armed conflict would never have arisen between them anyway. Co-existence isn't that hard, technically. We can learn from them, they can learn from us. More productive in the end.

Yeah but that was not the case.
Thank the Lords of Kobol for that. At least one side got it's ass kicked. In a pretty spectacular manner at that.

There's a forum dedicated to being a support group for people who are depressed that Pandorum isn't real.

I really like the way you think about Avatar! Power to humanity, that's what I'm saying. Fuck the Na'vi.

aheam..bullshit..aheam.

seriously, i was mad at 1st, but now, i'd like to congratulate cameron for making a movie that acts like a scanner for loser idiots who need to erase themselves from this world.

maybe if the movie will be in cinemas long enough the planet might relieve itself from a few of these..maybe the collective i.q. will grow a few points..

go cameron!

oh and make the next movie about the dramatic life of amoebas, and have it star johnny depp as salmonella virus no 23.

I'd rather live on This Pandora [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86WpLFOIYjw].
You're basically immortal, and the dangers are fairly obvious.
