Sharlto Copley improvised his dialogue for the entire film (which was also his first full feature) and he produced a character that was emotional, realatable and realistic.
Sam Worthington (a man with years of prior acting experience) depicts a shallow space marine who would stab his team in the back and slaughter dozens of his fellow humans when given the correct (ahem) motivation (i wouldn't even trust this guy with my socks).
