I'm 19. Slightly ahead in some fields, a lot behind in others.
I feel bad for bumping this thread =(.

Also, I actually see more posts whining about ponies than actual pony posts.

It seems like 38 year olds on here do think alike.

And no, I don't understand the pony thing either. Here in the UK MLP is a show for primary school girls; why 20-something blokes would profess a love for it is beyond me.
Well for starters there are two things you should be aware of:
1) We're talking about a new MLP series that debuted last year with entirely new everything.
2) The person behind it's creation was Lauren Faust, known for her work on PowerPuff Girls and Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends (both also very popular shows).

If you know those things and are still dismissive then all I can suggest is that it pays to keep an open mind. It's a good show. The jokes are funny, the characters are relatable, the references are clever (seriously, Star Wars, Star Trek, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Benny Hill, Alice in Wonderland...and this is only what I noticed, mind you). The team that created it are people our own (well, your own, actually) age, and they set out to make a show that they themselves could enjoy. Yes it's about pastel equines, but the characters could be human and it wouldn't change anything other than a bit of terminology. The way I see it, true quality is universal. I'm not going to deny myself entertainment just because no one had any idea I'd enjoy it.

22 years old here, and the Pony trend drives me frikken stir crazy.

Socially awkward teens, and their silly trends... "mumble grumble".

I'm 17, to be 18 in March. Ponies have never really bugged me.

My favorite colour is blue. Pleasure to meet you.

I thought for sure that most Escapists were in their teens, not in their twenties or thirties.

I would make the ponies go away if I could - the average explanation people give to explain this thing (well, it's like, a pretty well written show which is intended for both children and adults, so like, lay off man) is profoundly insufficient, given that it explains absolutely nothing. The show is not that well-written - it's competent, yes, but that can be said about a lot of shows.

Anyway, I'm 21.

im 6 but im stil a big kid

Huh. Writing like a little kid is hard. I'm currently 29. I split my time between this forum and a forum made up of people going with me on a heavy metal cruise this January. The cruise is a bit pricey, so everyone's an adult. As the OP stated, when everyone's a mature adult, the level of posturing and chest-puffing goes way down. Kind of gives me whiplash going back and forth between the two forums.

I'm 18, but I'm only on here for ZP and MovieBob's stuff. I come on forums when I'm unbelievable bored (like now, in college algebra).

I'm 19, going on 14, going on 40. I fluctuate between bouts of ardent expression and indulgence of my nerdish/childish habits and the acerbic dissmissive tone of a grouchy middle aged man, confounded with the contemporary culture of today's youth with their Social Networking and their Hippety-Hop and their Twilight and their Dubstep and their Ron Paul and their Minecraft and their...

21 and a 1/4, seriously aint it cute when kids do that. But seriously does it really matter? I rather think people just notice the bad things about kids/young people as they get older themselves. I mean Cato the Elder was bitching about Roman youth in Roman times.

A metal cruise, intriguing. What does it entail?

22 on halloween, I don't like the ponies either, seems a bit silly to me but as they haven't bothered me beyond "You should watch MLP:FiM, it's awesome!" I have no quarrel with them.
