AvP or Just Cause 2?

After resisting the Steam sale for... oh, a day... I've decided to embrace it as an excuse to pick up games that I'm slightly interested in but would never pay full price for. In the interests of not spending silly amounts of money I'm limiting myself to one special offer a day, at most.

Yesterday was Bioshock. Today I'm torn between Aliens vs Predator or Just Cause 2.

AvP: I love the Alien movies (yep, even the 4th one) and Predator (not so much the sequels/spin offs) and FPS is one of my favourite genres. From the trailers the game looks and sounds nicely authentic, but... it got some pretty lackustre reviews.

Just Cause 2: Simply put - is this game really the free for all sandbox mayhem brain-free fun that everyone says it is, or is that aspect of it hugely exagerated?

I would say, go with Just Cause 2 Sir/Madam/Horrific Abomination from some godforsaken planet, If you enjoy free roaming sandbox games, where you have freedom to go shoot stuff, blow up, practice grapple techniques, and the like, I did find AvP rather... well boring.

Alien Vs Predator I had more fun with, being an AvP fan, it has its flaws but I still find it a great game. I personally didn't go much on Just Cause 2, its almost too big a game.

Having only played the demo of JC2 and the first level of AvP's Predator campaign, I'd say JC2.

I would say Just Cause 2...It's good for a few hours and can easily kill time.

The map is huge, the amount of places to discover is over-whelming, you will not get bored for an awfully long time.

It's basically GTA on steroids, but damn its fun.

Just Cause 2. How many other games exist where you can tie a 747 to a 747 and surf around on top of them? Once you start tying shit together, the amusement will never cease.

I say get AvP if your into multiplayer. While I loved the game, I felt the game to be OKish but the multiplayer was fun.

Never played JC2 so I cant say much about it.

I own Just Cause 2 on Steam, and I've played AvP on PC (don't own it though). AvP's multiplayer is some decent fun, but personally I probably wouldn't put down money for it. Didn't get into the single player that much.

Just Cause 2 is a really fun game to dip into in my opinion. I can't sit and play it for hours, but when I'm bored, I like to come back to it and mess around.

I'd go with Just Cause 2.

Just Cause 2 is easily better than AvP. Anyone who says otherwise has clearly never gone on top of a mountain and rode down it on a motorbike attached to a tank

I bought AVP when it was full price, I never installed it due to the horrible stuff you hear about it.
I regret it and I'm ashed to admit I bought it for that much.
