Muse. Oh wait, all these wannabe American fans learned about them, and now they suck.

I swear I was the first Yankee who knew about them.

And maybe Primus. I am sure a bunch of people knew about them, but they kinda died out a while back, so this younger generation might not.

Mirrorthrone. Its a one-man-band but he's really good. He sings, plays guitar/bass,and handles the drum programming.

People haven't heard of it because not many people listen to avant garde or black metal.

Justice
Mars Volta
MSTRKRFT
Spiritualized
TV on the Radio

all good bands that aren't too well known.
TV on the Radio = bullshit.

On-topic, Crossfade, the Cranberries, Herbie Hancock, and Pink Floyd.

Nobody else I know has heard of Machinae Supremacy for some reason ... It's probably pretty popular in some other places though. But I wouldn't know.
Loads of people I know listen to them quite a bit. Namely because Emily Bouff had a link to their site on her site. Then of course there is the whole Jets N' Guns thing.

Streetlight Manifesto. I love that band so much but no one I know seems to have ever heard of them untill I make them listen to them in my car all the time.
This. It upsets me that so few people I've met know who Streetlight is or even know what ska is for that matter.

I shall also mention the awesome band that is Big D and the Kids Table.

MSI are pretty well known..

Mine,

Rancid.
The king blues.
Deathcab for cutie.
George Calil.
less than jake.

And they're pretty popular!
I have met one person, ever, who has heard of MSI before.

I hear their name brought up by a lot of people, even in the media for a pseudo-pop culture reference. It's pretty well known...
