Yeah, this is just right wing sensationalism again. I've been hearing this rumour and other similar ones since I started secondary (that would be just about 8 years ago now), and I'm pretty sure they've been circulating since before then. Crying about political correctness gone mad is a typical tactic of rags like the Daily Mail for getting folks all in a tizzy, and ultimately to make them buy more newspapers.

It's no different to claims that those dirty liberals/muslims/whatevers are trying to ban Christmas, or that the EU is trying to force circus performers to wear hard hats. Typically these non-stories start with one isolated incident that gets picked up on and blown completely out of proportion, assuming of course that the tall tale hasn't been fabricated entirely (which happens a lot).

Heres a quick rule of thumb for picking up on these sorts of things. If at any point in the article you're reading you see the words "you couldn't make it up" theres a pretty good chance that it has been. Especially if the article is written by a certain Richard Littlejohn.

More retarded political correctness...
Thats like changing the Canadian National Anthem from "our sons" to "our children" (or whatever stupid shit it was going to be changed to) or censoring classic songs that have "gay" in them, because they are apparently anti-homosexual?
I'd say more, but Morgan Freeman says it better than I can.
Bam. Racism and political-correctness solved in less than a minute.

When will people learn that everyone is prejudice against something. Our whole way of thinking is that we can be better than someone at anything. Be it skill, flesh tone, intelligence, genitalia length and fertility, physical prowess, etc. There's a different between accepting this in each and every human being, and acting on it. Not hiring a person because they're female, black, asian, handicapped, etc is wrong. However not liking them is not wrong, it is just what sort of person we are.

Real racism was supposively killed by the equal opportunity act in the United States. These days the claiming of racism is just an attempt to make people forget whom they are, their abilities, what make them unique, and yes, their prejudices. All of these make a person unique, an individual. By removing these from society, it can let the government form the now identical peon shells that are left behind without the parts of their humanity that make them an individual into whatever useful drone workers they require them to be.

I have an aunt whom, her entire life she's been molested, had her husband killed, her parents killed, and one of her daughters killed by Hispanics. Of course she has a prejudice against them, they raped her, killed her family members, and it was all done by a single race. How could you expect someone not to have a little hate in there?

Though I myself have told her to quiet down a bit when she was talking loudly about her hate in public, I do not tell her its wrong to hate that which have tormented her her entire life.

All these changes recently, have been for one thing, control. Do you want to be another peon, a number; or do you want to be an individual, whom has your own likes and dislikes, and refuse to let others tell you that how you believe is wrong?

TBF, Morgan Freeman could probably say anything better than any of us here.
Well yeah, he IS God after all.
But that's RACIST... [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Magical_negro_archetypes_in_fiction]

Seriously, you can't win. The whole concept of racism is being used purely for pressure, rather than to fight social injustice.

There was a story a while back in the papers (a good 6 or 7 years ago, I think) where they wanted to ban the "Three Little Pigs" because it might insult some nameless so-not-extremist religion *cough-muslims-cough*

I don't think it went through as most people, even those from said religion said they were being idiotic PC morons (though probably using words a lot worse than that)

I think this is utterly ridiculous. I mean, They're gonna change it to Rainbow sheep according to a few sources.

THey changed Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree for using the word gay, and I could understand that. I didn't agree with it, but if a lot of children laugh at you as you sing the song it's understandable.

But seeing racism where there is none is a form of racism in it's self. They are meant to be treated as equals, and acting extremely...extremist...over stuff like this is more causing embarrassment than actual black rights (Which I'm all for).

It's the equivalent of seeing a black guy and saying BLACK. HE'S BLACK. BE NICE TO HIM BECAUSE HE'S BLACK, PEOPLE in my opinion...

So what's your thoughts on this, hmm?

Yes that means YOU, the guy with the glasses.
firstly where did you here this ppl have been saying this crap for about 2 years now i I?m pretty sure its no more true no that it was then...

2ndly the song itself isn?t races but its organs most certainly are I?m a Kition (I?m form St. Kitts look it up) and I can tell you with certainty that my grandparents and my great-grandparents use 2 use it as a joke song to take the piss out of there under paid workers... (yessss i come of a family of slave owners in the Caribbean that owned plantations dosnt mean im pro slavery but free feel to rant on about it internet) so even though i pity certain that this isn?t true i really think you should look in to a lot of the back story of things before you don you rant cap XD

No way! I don't believe it... [http://idontbelieveit.ytmnd.com/]
I hate how everyone everywhere is a little bit racist (including myself) and can't really do anything about it, because everything everywhere is a little bit racist.
Not always "Hey you filthy negro!", but just by recognizing that a black person is different from a white person, or even saying black/white people, that is slightly racist.
Stupid media >=/

This is going to far, I agree, while racism still exists today in large quantities in every nation (yes, "insert your country name here" is racist too, yes "insert your city name here" is racist too, yes "insert a group you are a part of here" has racists in it), ba ba black sheep is not racist, it's implying something about the difference between one sheep from the others using SOMETHING THAT ACTUALLY EXISTS!!!!! There is a difference between black and white sheep, and black sheep are less common, it's not racist, it's fact.

So, they're changing the lyrics of a rhyme designed to help teach youngsters not to judge someone by the colour of their skin, in the name of PC? ...Smooth...

What's next? "The ink is blue, the paper is recycled, together we learn not to judge the illiterate"?

This is why it's being done, but this is why I'm annoyed.

Try explaining this to a 3-5 year old, IE the target audience...

Also new information:

Playschool, among other children classics, has sung the Rainbow sheep according to a quick google search but I have seen for myself on cBeebies (Whilst babysitting) And Playschool (As an older brother *Eyeroll*) the Humpty Dumpty altered ending.

It's not just a fad on the internet that recurs every now and again, it's hit TV people, not just our morning news shows but the feed that our children are learning and absorbing from(Exaggerated overreaction)

So yeah, there's that.

Because I'm sure you had such a huge attachment to that song beforehand.
Black sheep are real things. Now it is a nonsense song with no meaning. Furthermore it demonstrates fundamental lack of understanding by legislators/administrators and suggests the beginning of unacceptable censoring. I dislike slippery slope arguments but they apply here.

Your suggestion to "roll over and accept it" is weak and foolish.

Baa, baa rainbow sheep, have you any wool ? Yes person yes person, three (environmentally friendly trading standards approved) bags full; one each for the gender equality ( and non age discriminated) community leader as well as one for the young person who lives in a child friendly nanny state down the lane.

Are you happy now you bunch of barrier-enforicing, robotic fucks?
I just thought I'd put those two posts together, because individually they're correct, together they're genius.

I've been hearing about this 'change' since I was in school (that's 4 years ago for reference) but I've never heard any serious talk of it outside of people going...well, people doing what YOU are doing. Basically the equivalent of a bunch of people round a water cooler going "oh my GOD can you believe it? this country is insane! oh, what a polava!"
