Well, I've read most of it. It's good, to say the least. The writing flows nicely and it's easy to pay attention to it, but the only real criticism you'll get from me is that in the middle, it sounds a little forced, as if you didn't know how to fill some space. Other than that, I found it good and easily readable.

I would avoid the other guilds. There is no moral dillema in the fighters, mages, or even thieves guild although you might pull that one off). Perhaps a few seperate quests, like my personal favorite quest "Paranoia" with Glarthir, or the Shivering Isles.

Thanks for reading! And thanks for the good word!

That's what I was thinking. The Brotherhood Quest just fell into place because of my personality conflicting with the obvious villain they wanted you to be. The Fighters Guild and Mages guild would be a little too 'standard flair' for my liking, I think. But an individual quest? Methinks it could be fun!
I'll have to fire up the game again and see what inspires! Thanks for reading!

Great story, makes me want to play Oblivion. Guess I should, since I finally downloaded that mod that combines OOO, MMM, Frans, and another thing I don't remember, basically overhauling the entire game. Should be fun.

Oooh, very nicely written.

If you do make it a series, don't just stick to quests. Find some of the other cool stuff in Oblivion to write about.
Like that troll that commited suicide!

It doesn't have any moral dilemmas in it that I can remember, but if you do decide to do another one of these, there is one quest I think could work really well: "Lifting the Vale". It was the one which you get from the Countess of Bruma to go and search for an ancient Akaviri artefact in a lost fortress.

I think it could work really well as a written story, provided you don't mind doing some internal monologues: you spend most of the quest completely alone in a frozen, desolate wasteland, while trying to figure out where you're supposed to go. It was one of my favourite quests in Oblivion, because it really had an "epic" feel to it that a lot of of the other quests lacked. It was, to use a horrible cliche, you against the world. You had a long journey through the snow to make, you didn't know where you were meant to be going, and you had to deal with a lot of ogres and undead to get there.

Very nicely done Baby Tea! Have you put any thought into making more oblivion based stories?

Well written, Baby Tea. I haven't finished reading just yet, but from the few chapters I have read through, I can truthfully say that I enjoyed your writing. I don't mean to sound selfish, but could you please do one for your experiences with the Thieves guild quests and the Mage's Guild quests?

Unfortunately I don't remember my first murder victim. I just remember when Lucien woke me up at the campsite just outside the Imperial City.

Very well done. I have a massive essay due tomorrow, but I couldn't stop reading this.

I literally started tearing up at this point.

I did actually pick up Fallout 3! I'm still deciding what my next one will be about, so I'll certainly take that into consideration!
If you do a story on Fallout 3, I'd like to recommend the Tennpenny Tower quest, or possibly Escape from Paradise. EfP may not be the best quest for moral ambiguity, but just hearing your description of Paradise Falls would be amazing for me. PF is one of the few places that really, really disturbs me.

You know, I wanted to end it in a way that wasn't preachy but yet fit with the characterization that the character went through. I'm happy to hear that someone could get the emotion out of it that I was trying to convey! I'll admit that I teared up writing both that final line, as well as the scene where he killed Faelian, but it's encouraging to know that others can feel similar when reading.

Again, thanks for reading and for the feedback! Always appreciated!
I'm working on a Baldur's Gate story now, if you're interested!

That thread is actually where I found the link to this one, but honestly, I'll probably not check it out. I was never too "into" Baldur's Gate.

Well, fair enough!
At least you liked this one! And Oblivion's setting makes it easy for me to get into again, so I'll probably write more set in good 'ol Cyrodiil eventually! Or try my hand at something that isn't medieval fantasy with a Fallout 3 story...but that's thinking too far ahead! BG for now!
Again, thanks for reading!

Very very nice man, very nice indeed. Well writted and I got the Oblivion feel from it.

But yeah, rather than just focus on a specific questline, throw in some other stuff. I think that half the fun in Oblivion is enjoying Cyrodil and what it has to offer as a game world.
