Fucking Agnus (Ag-noose) from Devil May Cry 4. I get it, he's sort of awkward and he has a stutter. I hated him so much, I was glad the game made me fight him two times, 'cause killing him once wasn't enough.

Oh come on! They should've at least giver her a southern accent (she's from Osaka).

OT: I remember being slightly disappointed with the dub for Angel Beats!. I didn't nerdrage, but I do chuckle literally every time they say the female lead's name.

It's Yurripe. It's supposed to be pronounced "yoo-ree-pay" with a roll on the "R." They pronounce it "yoo-rippy."

Personally, Terra's voice in Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep causes violent seizures in my brain.

The Kingdom Hearts series has fairly consistently good voice acting, and even within THAT GAME, there's some real winners (Mark Hamill and Leonard Nimoy steal the show), but Terra? God damn, he's EASILY the worst voice in the entire series.

Not only that, but he's supposed to be the main freaking character of that game, so he never has a chance to SHUT UP.

Frankly, he's one of the main reasons I can't call that game my favorite in the series.

It's... not easy being M Dickie...

Honestly This guy makes me extremely angry yet I love his smugness. I know he isn't in anything on the market or any real industry but he's like the Nolan North of the internet. He's in everything.

Dawn of War Soulstorm springs to mind.
That isn't bad voice acting, that's hilarious voice acting that is extremely catchy.

Most Dawn of War games really.
There are only two, and they have fantastic voice acting across the board.

Relic know how to capture the character of the units of the 40K universe.

Bad voice acting was one of the factors that sucked me out of the experiences of Deus Ex:HR and Skyrim. Almost no one in those games sounded like a real person and it made me cringe at times.

Jessica Chobot was about 6 different kinds of awful. And the fact that you could have a romantic relationship with her is very unnerving to me.

Mark Meer comes immediately to mind, especially considering that the comparisons between him and the vastly superior Jennifer Hale are inevitable. One could argue that Jennifer Hale is an unfair comparison because she's superior to pretty much everyone else, and that's true. The thing is, even when you don't compare him to someone who might be the best video game voice actor ever, Mark Meer falls flat. Compare him to most voice actors and Mark Meer falls flat. Compare him to Steve Blum and he falls flat. Compare him to Nolan North and he falls flat. Hell, you can even compare him to Jon St. John, the ultimate one-trick pony of the voice acting world, and Mark Meer still falls pathetically flat. Mark Meer might be one of the worst leading men of all time in terms of video game voice talent. If I ever hear his dull, lifeless, uninterested monotone again, it will be too soon.
One of the reasons i played fem shep is because Mr. Meer's voice is lifeless, dull, uninteresting and no emotion.
I'm throwing another vote into the shitpile that is Mark Meer's VO. And you don't even need to compare him to Jennifer Hale. Compare MaleShep's voice work to Kaiden's, Garrus', Captain Anderson, fucking anyone else. He sucks donkey balls, period.

FemShep never sounds right to me - she puts a slight macho-man twist on it and it sounds forced. She was much better as Bastila.
I'm glad someone else agrees. Mark Meer's version at least sounds like a professional soldier. She sounds like she wants to kill everyone whatever option I choose.

Really all I can think of currently is the revolutionary leader in Just Cause 2. Dear God.

I've played plenty of games with bad voice acting, SoulCalibur 2 and it's subsequent sequels are some of the biggest culprits and one of the main reasons I'm glad they have a japanese voice track (at least SC2, I don't know about the others).

Now that I think about it, every single fighting game made in Japan that's localized in english. And some ask "why people need japanese voice tracks", so that we don't hear the crap the english voice overs have.

Also, every single Resident Evil game ever created.

Perfect Dark has awful voice overs ("I have a headache, and with a head this big, that's no joke" >.<').

Mind you, there are games with voices so awful it's awesome, like Star Fox 64 ("Do a barrel roll!" :D).

And I can think of many, many more, but I'm way too lazy to write that much right now.

Both trouble witches neo and enchanted arms had me reaching for the japanese language option in under five minutes. Trouble witches in particular felt they'd just got some random staffers to read from a card.

I tend to only watch anime with English subs. It's very rare that I can tolerate dubs.

It's the same in most video games. I prefer the Japanese voices when the game is originally Japanese.
I can't stand a lot of the English voices in things like UMvC3 or Blazblue.
The worst that I've heard, by far, is Arc Rise Fantasia. Why doesn't that game have a Japanese voice track. It would DEFINITELY be better.

It has bad voice acting but Resident Evil 1 is one of those cases where the bad voice acting is just hilarious.
Same with Just Cause 2. It adds to the B-movie experience.

Pretty much everything on Cartoon Network today. The ideas for all of these shows are cool, but the bad voice acting and cliche writing just makes me want to change the channel... and then change back again just to make sure.

Gonna venture into much more adult material here, but have any of you seen the English Dub of Bible Black? Good GOD but that made me envy the deaf! Poor translation that varied from blind idiot translation to the worst type of narm, voice acting that was either a dull reading to horrifically screeching, it was a mess on nearly every level.

We already agreed that Meer's voice is bad as Male Shep, could you suggest a better voice actor?

"Mystic powers grant me a miracle!" -Momo Xenosaga2

I cringe just thinking about that line. I had disliked the change in voice actors for many of character between the first and second game but by the end of the game it was okay with most of going form good to acceptable. except that one line and as it was said every time Momo used a spell and she was often my healer that meant boss fights in particular would let you hear it once a round. I didn't have a big problem with the voice actor at all but it was like they used the worse take possible for that line. It was like they could only do it in one take and someone stuck her with a tack at the end of it.
